2010 NPC Fox Cities Bodybuilding & Figure Invitational

The competition will be held on May 1, 2010 at Little Chute High School in Wisconsin. Little Chute is located in Northeastern Wisconsin, just 20 miles south of Green Bay, 90 miles North of Milwaukee. Anyone who has competed knows that the last thing they want to be doing on the day of the competition is driving around an unfamiliar city trying to get to the venue. Little Chute High School is ½ mile off a major highway (hwy 41) and is super easy to get to.

For the convenience of those athletes who are coming from out of town to compete, we have moved the host hotel to the new Country Inn and Suites in Little Chute. The hotel is right off the highway, ½ mile from the high school, and a short walking distance from 5 restaurants. The nearby city of Appleton, only 10 minutes from Little Chute, boasts a huge shopping mall and every kind of restaurant you can imagine.

IFBB Phoenix Pro: Top Mens Bodybuilders

The first IFBB pro contests of the 2010 season are almost upon us, and in the Men’s Bodybuilding contest, it is shaping up to be a good battle between some seasoned competitors. Whereas there are always surprises on who is going to be competing, the top 4 look like it is going to be Melvin Anthony, Troy Alves, Toney Freeman and Hidetada Yamagishi, not necessarily in that order.

Troy Alves is the hometown favorite, since he lives in Phoenix and owns his own supplement and training store there. Troy will definitely be ready for this contest, as he has learned from his mistakes from last years 11th placing at the Ironman, and moved up to win the IFBB Orlando Show of Champions, and place 3rd at the IFBB Atlantic City Pro. We won’t talk about the 2009 Olympia though. Still, fans are predicting that Troy is going to take this show and prove to everyone he is the best to start the season.

Melvin Anthony also is training hard right now, staying with Dennis James, who is making sure Melvin will be ready for this contest. We just heard Melvin Anthony on Pro Bodybuilding Radio last Monday night discussing his preparation for the contest, and we know his posing routine (which won’t count in the scoring this season) will be great. Can Melvin take this show and win it? Of course he can. While Troy beat Melvin at the IFBB Atlantic City Pro last year by one placing, it was Melvin that placed ahead of Troy at the 2009 IFBB Olympia.

Hidetada Yamagichi continues to improve his physique, and this year may be the time in which Hide will surpass the others. Hidetada placed second last year at both the IFBB Orlando Pro Show of Champions and the IFBB Atlantic City Pro, but also beat Melvin Anthony and Troy Alves at the IFBB Olympia, making it into the coveted top 10 rankings of the best bodybuilders in the world. No one should underestimate Hideatada at this contest.

Toney Freeman, based on rankings, is probably the best bodybuilders that will be on the stage in Phoenix, coming from an 8th place finish at the 2009 IFBB Olympia and a win at the 2009 IFBB Sacramento Pro. So why are people doubting that Toney is going to win this contest? They shouldn’t, as Toney has proved time and time again that his physique and muscularity should dominate the contest. Toney is the favorite here, based on a myriad of fans responses.

There are others who can place and surprise everyone, including Johnnie Jackson and Quincy Taylor, both who can be really on, or just miss their conditioning. Others who plan on competing include DeShaun Grimez, Mike Libertore, Mehmet Yildrim, Stan “The White Rhino� Efferding, Daniel Hill, Andy Haman, and Con Demetriou. An official list should be out soon.

Championships are just fourteen weeks away!
On May 1st, 2010 at Timberline High School in Boise, ID.

We are hard at work getting things in order.
Some additions are coming to the www.NGAIdaho.com website.
The online automated application for 2010 will be up and running soon.
Registering will be a breeze! This year you will pay for your polygraph test in advance, along with your application fees.

Remember, you will need to have a valid 2009-2010 NGA card.
Also, your card is valid for one year, and will expire one month prior to the month that you had purchased it.

This year we are adding two new divisions:
Women’s Masters 45 and older, and Men’s Masters 50 and older.

Roy, Utah-   The Northern States Bodybuilding and Figure Championship showcased some of the best natural athletes in the mountain state region.  It was held at Roy High School in Roy, Utah on 26 September 2009.  
       The 1st through 3rd place Novice winners received beautiful trophies from Neils Andersen Trophies.    
The Weber County Honor Guard started off the show by “Posting the Colors.” The honor guard consisted of professional firemen representing the Utah cities of Ogden, Roy, Riverdale, Weber, S. Ogden and North View.    
The teens were first out of the blocks. Skyler Bailey and Abraham Herrera battled for the coveted 1st Place trophy with Skyler nudging Abraham out.
The Men’s Masters was very competitive.  Richard Larkin, competing in his 4th show of the year took 1st Place.  Richard came in ripped, full and vascular.  Richard’s physique was too much for the rest of the class!  Richard was able to hold off strong competition from 2nd Place Aaron Herrgesell of Idaho and 3rd Place Rich King of the Ogden City Fire Department.  This was Rich’s 2nd contest of the year and has already proven he is a force to be reckoned with.      
     The Men’s Novice division displayed polished physiques.  Men’s Novice Lightweight featured ultra-ripped physiques with Trevor Hayes of Idaho taking 1st Place, Nicklaus Grey took 2nd Place and Corey Staley was a close 3rd.   Men’s Novice Middleweight class was taken by Rich King who took home his second trophy of the night!  He was followed by Robert Magana and Skyler Bailey.  Men’s Novice Heavyweight class featured big muscle with great conditioning.  Aaron Bond of Brigham City, Utah took 1st Place with 2nd Place finisher Filipe Filimoeatu closely behind and Landon Packer capturing the 3rd Place trophy.        
Women’s Bodybuilding featured Cate Carpenter who came in shredded and muscular.  Cate took home 1st Place and was a joy to talk to back stage as her personality was bubbling over with confidence and kindness.  
Intermission featured 2009 Mr. Utah Chadd Brann who wooed the crowd with his awesome size and PRO quality physique!  After intermission, was the Ms Figure, which featured 21 of the most beautiful ladies in Utah!  The ladies displayed excellent poise and stage presence.  The Masters Figure opened up the second half of the show with Amara Bray of Springville, Utah taking 1st Place, followed by Stacey Meredith of Boise, Idaho and veteran competitor Jill Nix of Pleasant Grove, Utah taking a close 3rd.  
The Figure Short Class had Kristina Hepburn of Roy, Utah taking 1st followed by Amara Bray and Kelly Herrgesell respectively.  The Figure Medium Class was taken by Tiffany Heugly of Sandy, Utah followed by Heather Talbot and Amara Kockler.  Tiffany had beauty and fine symmetry which combined to make her unbeatable this night.  She also took the Overall Figure title later in the evening beating out the Figure Short and Tall winners.  That earned her a Pro Card!  She will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in 2010!   The Figure Tall Class was won by 6’2” Staci Meredith.  She was followed by Karli Brent and Danielle Palmer.  
Last event of the night featured the Men’s Open classes.  The lightweight class was taken by Nafe Hosea of West Valley, Utah.  Nafe’s physique carried 170 pounds of muscle to beat out Matt Perry of Boise, Idaho and 3rd Place Quin Stevens.  The heavyweight class featured lots of striated beef!  Dan Just of Billings, Montana earned his Pro Card by edging out Cory Rudd of Boise, Utah and 3rd place winner Richard Larkin.
