Nick Scott is a True Hero and Inspiration, he was diagnosed as a paraplegic and told he was never going to walk again. Nick was on his was to football practice when his left front tire blew out and rolled his vehicle 5 times ejecting him from his seat and through the drivers side window and eventually collided with his car in mid-air.

Nick was 300 lbs at the age of 17 and is now 180 lbs at 26. He decided that "the one thing you gain from losing everything, Is perspective"

Ron Avidan and I caught up with the overall Figure Champ, Erin Stern in Atlanta, GA. I photographed Erin the day after her big win and when the shoot was complete we did an amusing little interview with the champ and her sister, "Dewey". Look for Erin to have an immediate impact in the pro ranks. She has an amazing physique and a great sense of humor to match it. This is one competitor I’d like to see in the Arnold Figure lineup.

I snagged 2nd place at the 2008 NPC Debbie Kruck Figure Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida this past weekend.

I’m watching the show as I’m typing this so sorry if things seems kinda weird. The prejudging looked good and the finals are doing well. I didn’t catch the entire thing, so I’ll comment on what I have and are seeing.

I didn’t see fitness sadly, but from the pics, it looked like Tracey is on par to contend for the Fitness Olympia title, as she just picked up another win heading into September’s showdown.

And personally, I see Traci Redding having a pretty good career. I mean, she’s doesn’t too "rookie-ish" compared to Tracey. Give Traci some time, and we could be looking at a bonified star in the fitness division.

The figure lineup was HUGE!!! But I would have picked a different top five, not a competely different top five. Shannon gets major props from me for competitng with a bad knee, as she was slated to do fitness. But with her placing, she better hope her knee is better as Fitness could be her only way to compete at the Olympia this year. I personally thought Jane Awad should have been in the top five. She gets better and better each time she steps on to the stage. Personally, I don’t see why she’s not in the Olympia right now; I just don’t see it. I’m happy for the figure winners, but I think the placings were not what I thought they would be…and yes, I’m going by the new figure standards.

Jennifer Sedia beat Nicole, Klaudia, and Debbie in LW?!?! Didn’t see that coming? Sherry Smith winning in HW didn’t seem that surprising to me.

I would like to say more, but I didnt catch as much as I wanted to due to different reasons. I DO however want to give a shoutout to Beni Lopez on her debut…

She was a former figure competitor, but she decided to turn pro and won the 2007 Jr. Nationals and make her pro debut, pleasing a lot of people on the boards. She’s not big, but she’s got great conditioning that will carry her to the promised land one day. I hope and pray she makes it to the Arnold and Olympia stage soon.

Well, I rate the women’s show like this:

B for fitness
C for figure (A+ for the HUGE line-up)
B for women’s bodybuilding (A for Lopez’s debut)
