Hello All-
I saw the MD forum about the upcoming Houston Pro Show- But my name was not on the competitors list. So I am getting the wod out that-I have also thrown my hat into that show. I did not know about the 202 and under class at that show until a week ago. Fortunately I was preppinmg for the Tampa and fresh off the NY Pro and still in pretty good shape. I was also encouraged by several people to do this show once I found out about it. Shawn or Dave - if you could post this or mention me on that forum I would greatly appreciate it.. So hopefully this helps get the word out. I want to thank everyone for all there support.

I received the OFFICIAL competitor lists for the Houston Pro show and it’s shaping up to be an incredible show for the women. Over forty women are slated to appear at this contest. A few names worth mentioning that haven’t been in the mix until now. Traci Redding will be making her pro debut and another fitness competitor who has been away from the IFBB stage will make a return. Well, yes we know Shannon Meteraud is making a return but there is another IFBB super star doing the same… Nicole Rollolazo! She’s one of the smaller competitors that will take the stage but she has a tremendous routine and is a great performer. Below are the contracts the office has received as of this morning. If you’re planning on competing and don’t see your name on the list - best be getting on that.

Hey Bodybuilding.com:
I had a great time at the Houston Pro! Lee Thompson put on a great show along with the NPC John Sherman. It was a smaller show, but a lot of big names! I really enjoyed competing with all the girls, we had so much fun.
The venue was nice, show was organized and ran smoothly and I absolutely loved the hotel and Sugarland area. My only complaint is me. I made a few mistakes in my last few days that I feel really affected my conditioning and placing. I used to be able to say I had never competed outta shape, but that day, I was very off. I have learned from it, and have put it behind me.
I am now focusing on the 2007 Europa, which is next week, in my own hometown. I’m ready to redeem myself!

First I want to say that Texas Chairman Lee Thompson put on an AWESOME ANNUAL SHOW and want to CONGRATULATE him on the SUCCESS…
Now on to the show… Like I said in my blog post after the Pittsburgh Pro, I was on the HUSTLE… as soon as we got back, my boyfriend NPC competitor Darrell Terrell (my trainer and nutritionist) told me WE’RE GONNA HAVE TO TAKE IT UP A NOTCH!!! He was proud of me but he didn’t like my legs (they needed toning) and conditioning - more polished, not ripped! But nicely detailed, so off to work we went…
Friday night check-in: Though a little late due to Houston traffic, it was nice seeing all who were still there and their feelings toward me came likewise. Come Saturday, day of the show, I knew it was gonna be a great show just due to the names again, such as V. Waugaman, A. Peters, A. Garcia, B. Galvan - and the list goes on…

For this show, I felt more confident in how I looked and got a lot of RESPECT from the judges on what I had vowed to bring better this time on my physique. Darrell fine-tuned some things from the last show and I got my first top 5 placing at the Pro Figure Show. I enjoyed being up there compared to the best and seeing all the girls come with a unique physique and presentation of their own… I would like to tell Valerie Waugaman congrats on her win!!!
My next stop is the 2007 Europa and once again just doing what Darrell asks and hopefully I’ll get a Ms. "O" qualification at this one! As usual, this show is jam-packed with quality athletes - all the more reason why I’ve stepped up my "A" game, and stuck to my diet!!!

I got permission from Odis McCullough to repost his recent MySpace blog entry here on Bodybuilding.com, so without further ado…
"Well everyone… I’m sitting on the sofa eating a brownie and some ice cream. Oh, my stomach is going to hurt tonight! LOL. I’m celebrating victory once again. I won the overall at the John Sherman Classic tonight. It has been a great year so far. I want to give a shout out to Sylvie and her husband. It was great finally meeting you, Girl. I love being in the presence of a Champion. Muah!
As you all know, I am aiming for a pro card this year. And The Nationals in Dallas is where I plan on getting it. Of course that’s not until mid November. And I am growing in leaps and bounds. I weighed in at 205 for the John Sherman Classic. 6 more pounds heavier than a week ago at the Team Universe. I am now officially carrying 22lbs more muscle than in April when I won the Ronnie Coleman. Again, I will be tighter and carrying more muscle for The Nationals. I promise!

In the mean time, I am physically and mentally exhausted. Oh I’m having a blast. But I am just worn out. So I have decided to give my body a 3 week rest… Celebrate my birthday on August 13th, and begin my conquest of winning the Texas Championships on Oct 27th, and The Nationals on November 16th. It’s a big task ahead of me. But Champions look for big conquests. That’s a Champion’s nature.
So let’s talk about persistence. Persistence is “the act of persisting or persevering; continuing or repeating behavior”. That means even when you get knocked off your path… Like me placing 3rd at the Team Universe last week. You still keep striving toward your goal. Let nothing hold you back. Winners and Champions always keep moving toward the goal. They are determined to win no matter what.
I will tell you that after not winning last week… it made this victory all the sweeter. Every time you rise from the ashes to victory, you prove you are a true Champion. So I’m gonna have some fun the next couple weeks, and then get back to the grind. I hope that I am inspiring you guys to follow your dreams. Cause I love you all, and I want you all to reach your full potential with persistence and determination. ‘Til next week… I love you all! BTW… I’ll get some pics up as soon as I see them posted.”

I had a chance to speak with Adela Garcia today fresh off her debut in figure. She told me she had fun competing in figure and the women were all very friendly.
She’s ready to step on stage again in a couple weeks at the Europa Super show, but this time in fitness. Adela says her love will always be fitness but it was enjoyable to trying something new, this time competing in figure. The chica will be competing in fitness at the Olympia, despite being qualified in both fitness and figure.

Well, my Houston Pro contract is in, and I’m definitely fired up for this weekend’s show!
I’ve been asked about Adela Garcia-Friedmansky crossing over from Pro Fitness into Pro Figure, and I think it’s a great thing that we’re able to crossover if we wish. Adela is so fun and she has sure made her mark in the fitness world, and I say “Go for it, girl!” - try something new, it keeps it fun and exciting for the fans and the athletes - nothing wrong with new competition!
More power to all women who like challenging themselves! Adela does have a fitness physique, however, so I think it will be interesting at this show to see how the judging goes, considering the difference in contest physiques between fitness and figure.
I’ve been so busy lately between getting ready for this show and my various on-going business projects that I’ve had to really focus on my progress. Between traveling, business seminars, my Champ Camps, and daily life, I’ve really had to practice some strict time management and planning lately. Usually, I just keep track of my contest prep details in a notebook, but the only way I have been able to keep track and stay focused lately is to make a 2-month planning calendar/poster to track my progress.
It’s a visual reminder with every detail of every day laid out right in front of me - meals, calorie tracking, workouts, etc. It has really helped keep me focused for the Houston Pro and I’m using a similar one for the upcoming Olympia. Look for my posters in upcoming episodes of my video show!
