I spotted this Atlantic City Pro review by curt_james on the Usenet misc.fitness.weights newsgroup recently, and am reposting it here with his permission.  Enjoy!

“Attended the Atlantic City Pro Saturday. Got there about a half-hour after the start of the evening show, but still had a fantastic time. Lots of pics, but they’re all on a disposable camera. Picked up a Kodak “Plus Digital” at a service station along the PA Turnpike near Philly. Dropped it off at the grocery store’s photo kiosk an hour ago. (Anonymoose, take note!)

Yaxeni Oriquen, Chris Cormier, Troy Alves, and old school bodybuilder Leon Brown of Pumping Iron fame were all gracious enough to pose for pics. Took some pics of the audience as well as shots of the on stage action, but I’m sure they’re all tiiiiny and probably blurry, too.

Also met Victor Munoz, Yaxeni Oriquen’s and Victor Martinez’s trainer, who was at the show. Check out Pro-Edge.net for Munoz’s website.

The star of “Super Size She,” Joanna Thomas, competed, placing 4th in the under 135-pound category.

Lisa Aukland won the ladies’ competition and Johnnie O. Jackson won the men’s pro thus qualifying for the Mr. Olympia which will take place September 28 in our own David Cohen’s back yard of Las Vegas!

Women’s 8th place under 135-pound competitor, Giusy Caputo of Sicily, posed for pics with 11th place under 135′er Claudia Partenza and both signed an autograph on this fanboy’s program. 

Six hours of round-trip drive time, but it was very much worth it, imo.

Om, lots of MD staff on hand, but I didn’t recognize more than the faces. You would probably know who they were from the magazine.

Johnnie adds another title to his belt with this show. He won the Montreal show last year and adds his second pro victory in Atlantic City.

I had a chance to catch up with one of the coolest IFBB pros you’ll ever meet… ALTI!  Alti Bautista will be returning to the stage after an absence and this time it won’t be fitness but figure.

I asked Alti what it’s like returning to the stage and she shared, "I forgot how much I missed this $hit. Da diet, da cardio, SIMPLY TREACHEROUS… but I wouldn’t do it any other way!"

I received an email recently from IFBB Pro Heinz Senior regarding the upcoming 2007 Atlantic City Pro show.

I’m reposting his comments here with his permission for your viewing pleasure!

"I went to new New York City last weekend to see Victor Munoz and get all the final touch to get ready for the Atlantic City Pro show in 3 weeks, we trained at Synergy Gym on Saturday located in Manhattan at the 14th street and then we went with Victor Martinez to Bev Francis Power House Gym in Syosset, New York.

Let me tell you, the Power House gym is amazing full of hard core equipment and a huge cardiovascular area, Spinning and aerobics room it is like haven to hit the weights, they have each of the best machines of the best brands and very comfortable and nice environment.

Victor Martinez and I went there to train BACK under Victor Munoz’s supervision and when we got there Muscular Development were there waiting for us to  record a video of our workout and Dave Palumbo did an interview after we finished. Thank you Dave you were very nice.

It was a very nice surprise for me and a great experience making my first video with MD, training with Victor Martinez, one of the best bodybuilders actually and with a strong opportunity to get the 2007 Mr Arnold, and Victor Munoz, one of the best trainers in the world, interviewed by Dave Palumbo and at the Bev Francis Power House Gym… CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT????? WOOOOOOUUUUUUHHHH !!!!, I was very excited and the only bad thing was that my wife couldn’t come with me to share this amazing moment.

Others of our friends went there like the Bodybuilding future star Armando Pena, he is only 19 years old, 240 pounds and if you ask me about his genetics, let me tell you, they call him “Little Victor.” He is training with Victor Munoz since he didn’t have any muscle and know is a bodybuilding promise. I just have some pictures and the video will be up on MD in less than 10 days.  Thanks to Steve Weinberger and Bev Francis to open me the doors of their POWER HOUSE.

I hope to look my best ever at the Atlantic City show and move up 2 or 3 places, and then keep the hard work with the Victor Munoz plan he already made for me to reach my goal to get in the top 10 with 250 pounds soon.
