Hey this email is from Richard Jackson himself - Informing us that he will be competing in the Houston Pro! READ!
"Hello All -
I saw the MD forum about the upcoming Houston Pro Show- But my name was not on the competitors list. So I am getting the wod out that-I have also thrown my hat into that show. I did not know about the 202 and under class at that show until a week ago. Fortunately I was preppinmg for the Tampa and fresh off the NY Pro and still in pretty good shape. I was also encouraged by several people to do this show once I found out about it. Shawn or Dave - if you could post this or mention me on that forum I would greatly appreciate it.. So hopefully this helps get the word out. I want to thank everyone for all there support."

Last night the men and women weighed in and the fitness/figure ladies had their heights checked. There are close to 200 figure competitors in this show and 100-110 men will be competing. The buzz of the night was all around Trey Brewer and what he would look like. He tipped the scale at 249lbs and I gotta give the dude props he made one helluva transformation from when I saw him in Pittsburgh a month ago. He definitely leaned up and is in decent condition. He still has a little on his back side that may or may not tighten up by the time he takes the stage on Saturday. One dude who is ginormous was Sean Allen. There’s a reason why people refer to him as "Big Sean" Allen. Sean weighed in at 280lbs and is in his best condition. He’ll be a force to reckon with in the super-heavyweight class. There were a number of guys in the lighter classes that are in great condition but anything could happen in two days. Some tighten up more while others will smooth out. We’ll have to wait and see how the men look until tomorrow but tonight the women will take the stage at 5pm.
The boys at the home office in Boise should be putting up photos from the check-in so look for those. Here are a couple until the rest are posted. You can also catch up on my female coverage on HARDBODY.com or on my LIFTstudios’ blog here on bodybuilding.com.

I’m all checked in the host hotel and surprise surprise surprise! I got me a doll garn good internet connection for once. If I weren’t on that blasted 27 Days of BB.com I’d be fixing to drink me a beer to celebrate. Aight I am annoying myself with the hick talk. All is well here in Chicago, hotel rooms are nice. Conveniently close to the airport. My cabbie was a moron and ran a read light then stopped in the middle of the intersection to back up. BRILLIANT. I’ll be taking the courtesy hotel shuttle.
I spotted NPC District Chairman, Lee Thompson as well as Nelson Almerico - husband to IFBB Figure Pro Paolo Almerico. I shared a cab with the lovely Brazilian Lulu Tigre, sister to Ana Tigre. Our flights arrived at the same time. IFBB Pro Lianne Seiwald was on my flight with one of her competitors. IFBB Pro Bridgette Murray texted me and said it didn’t look good on getting into Chicago today, she’s flying standby which can royally suck at times.
Check out my preview that is up on the site now for this show:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/2008npcjrnat_preview2.htm
I’m going to check out the scene in the hotel lobby and then take a few photos at checkin tonight. Stop back throughout the weekend for more coverage.

Could "BIG SEAN" Allen be the next NPC Jr. Nationals Champion? We’ll find out in a few short days who will leave Chicago the overall champ. Michael Lockett was victorious last year who will it be this year? You may also recall Jennifer Gates won the overall figure crown and has gone onto win a pro show, compete in the Olympia and Arnold and is now considered a top pro in the figure ranks. This show will be one to watch. If you’re in Chicago say hello if not, check back as I will be covering all the action for bodybuilding.com in Chicago this weekend.

Sean posted this photo of himself in the MD forums.

Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) were found in Camp Taji, Iraq.
But we’re not talking about nuclear weapons. We’re talking about explosive quads, massive traps, and monstrous biceps. On May 25, 2008, Camp Taji held its first Bodybuilding, Hard body, and Fitness/Figure competition. While members of the Armed Forces are fighting the war against terrorism, they still manage to find the time to stay in immaculate physical condition. There were a total of 20 competitors: ten for bodybuilding, four for fitness, and six for hard body.
The first display of WMDs was the hard body competition. Armed with two massive boulders for shoulders, Specialist Chapman took first place. This event was judged solely on the contestant’s upper body. Chapman was awaiting a flight home for rest and relaxation, and due to harsh weather conditions he was unable to leave for home. He figured while waiting for a flight, he might as well compete! When Chapman showed his most muscular pose, the crowd cheered loudly. USARMY Cavalry Scout William Chadly Hill wasn’t too far behind, winning second place. He can’t wait to compete in the next show.
Typically when women compete in figure or fitness they wear posing suits. The female/figure contestants did a great job of improvising a suit. With creativity, each female contestant stepped out on stage looking her best while performing each quarter turn. Mechanic Specialist Amber Gil won first place for figure/fitness.
The bodybuilding competition was the last event in the show and by far the most competitive. Following the individual performances, all ten soldiers came on stage for the pose down. This was the first competition for USARMY Ranger and Sniper Staff Sergeant Tyrel Tierney. After winning the title of Mr. Taji, he has the determination and ambition to compete in more shows. Tierney has hopes of competing in NPC sanctioned events when he returns home from Iraq. USARMY Air Traffic Controller Sergeant First Class Jeff Herzog won second place. He is a veteran competitor from Oahu, Hawaii who has competed in The Paradise Cup 2006 and the Armed Forces Bodybuilding Hawaii 2007.
The day after the show the gyms were overflowing on the base. We are all hoping for even more competitors for the next show. All the competitors were incredibly grateful for the support provided by Bodybuilding.com. The soldiers enjoyed the gifts and souvenirs they provided. Soldiers left the show with towels, t-shirts, sample supplements, drink bottles, and more from the military-friendly site! Stay tuned for the next event, November 23rd, 2008, with hopes of an even bigger display of our Armed Forces Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Lonnie "the swami" Teper stopped by Ron "yogi" Avidan’s house and the broke down this weekend’s NPC Jr. California. If you’re in the California area stop by the Swami’s big show. I will be in Chicago for the NPC Jr. Nationals and won’t be able to make this event.

I used to live in Omaha, Nebraska where I worked at a big advertising agency and got my learn on at an art college. That’s not really relevant to this story but anyone who has lived in Omaha or currently lives there has to be excited for the city. The web site MMAmania.com has confirmed that the next UFC Fight Night 14 will be held in Omaha. Look for Houston Alexander to bounce back from loosing two in a row in front of his hometown crowd. He is slated to fight on this card. The main event has yet to be announced but stay tuned for more details as they are announced. Midwest fans will get a taste for what the UFC is all about on September 17, 2008.

I love the last week of contest prep! I love being able to say this is my last leg work out, this is my last regular workout, this is my last deplete day! My training partner who’s a WNSO Muscle Model and Fitness model pro always says that the last week doesn’t count. I think she’s right! Everybody tells you how excited they are for you, how it’s almost there and all of a sudden the diet that killed you the week before isn’t that bad anymore…
I went with my training partner to do groceries and buy all our competition stuff as well as our post contest food lol. After buying a gazillion dollars worth of candy, chips and chocolate I was told by the cashier that I was lucky to get to eat all of that and be so small!!!!! If only she knew
This time around I’m a lot better prepared, it’s the world Championship after all! We modified my diet and my training and I have never been in better shape. There wasn’t really time for me to add some size since I just did a show but I will be a lot leaner. Last week I was 8.something BF at 108!!!!!! My legs are looking a lot better than last time and I’m really happy about that! I still have a week to go, 2 more deplete days, 3 carb up days, 1 last back and chest wo, 1 last arm wo, 1 last deplete wo and than I will rest and eat sweet potatoes and oats and will enjoy this great adventure!
Someone once asked me why I was so relax the day of the show. My answer was simple, I love it! I also know that it’s a judged sport so there is not much you cna do about the outcome so if you show up with your best body every time and you’re proud of yourself you have already won…
have a good one and good luck to all of you who will be competing next week-end in Toronto!
Isabelle!
P.S. I would like to give Isabelle Galarneau my training partner a big shout out for her constant support and to my man Michael (1_2_Rage) thank you so much! I never could have done this without you!
