Well, I did it!!

If someone told me that I would weigh 237.4lbs on November 15th 2007, I would have told them they were nuts, but that is what it said when I jumped on the scale this morning at the gym after my run.  I have to say that I am pretty happy with that. I thought that it would take me to at least a week before my birthday on the 5th to hit 240lbs, but I have surpassed it.
I think now that I have hit that goal, its time to start building some real lean muscle. I’d like to gain a good 10lbs of lean mass by February. I`m not really sure how long something like building lean muscle takes. I`ve never in my life actually went out purposely to gain weight, so this is totally uncharted territory for me.  I`ll probably start doing less cardio, so no more cardio 2 a days. I think I`ll just do cardio in the morning then weights at night. Also add a protein with some more calories like True Mass instead of Syntha -6.If anyone has some suggestons on best ways to build lean muscle, please let me know.
Thanks

First of all, many congratulations on reaching your goal. You’re looking badass already mate, and an extra 10 lbs of muscle on you is going to make you a beast.
I read a while ago that realistically the body can’t put on much more than 2 lbs of muscle tissue per month (without the special sauce), so somewhere around Feb isn’t unrealistic. It also depends on your metabolism. The best way to do it is to measure all your calories for about a month (using a site like www.fitday.com) and see over the course of that month how many calories you’re eating on average and whether youre gaining weight too fast or not at all. Once you know what your maintenance calories are, then you can scale calories up slowly until you’re gaining clean muscle. What fitday will also let you see is how many grams of protein you’re eating, and if you’re bulking you want to be getting in at least 250+ grams of protein /day during your bulk. But you probably know all this stuff already, since you have a body that puts mine to shame! Good luck and grats again

Also, I just dug up an old article. I read in your profile that you used to be quite heavy (former fat boys represent! Although at your height i’m sure you carried the poundage pretty decently). Either way, this article helped me out a LOT guiding me what to do for nutrition, mass gaining, supplements, cardio, etc. It’s really awesome.
