So, this weekend I went away to hang out with a friend of mine. I had an awesome time, but ended up drinking. Not only that, but I also did not eat too well. So now, my stomach looks like I ate a baby. I wouldn`t feel to bad because I know I just have to eat cleanly and bust my ass at the gym, which is what I planned to do. I started off well yesterday, doing a 4 mile run in like 33 mins. Then worked on my legs and did some abs. I was feeling good and got up and ran this morning where is where is all went down hill. I was running really well on the treadmill for like 15mins at a pretty quick pace of 12.5 when I felt this sudden pain shoot through my lower back. It was really bad, but I was determined to keep going. After a few mintues the pain subsided enough for me to breathe normally again. I finished my 3 mile run in under 25 mins, which is okay. I got off the treadmill and tried to stretch the pain out, but I couldn`t really hit where it was. On the train to work the pain was so bad I thought I was going to pass out and almost got out before my stop, but I made it to work with the help of my Ipod. I sat down at work and could immeadiately feel the pain again. I have been getting up every 5 to 10 mins because I can`t sit in one spot for too long. What sucks is that standing up doesn`t really help too long either. I feel like I have a knife lodged in my lower back and when I sit down someone is twisting it, slowly. This is totally screwing up my workout this week. This is the second time that part of my back has betrayed me. Last time it went away in about a day of resting home and ibuprofen. I hope it doesn`t take any longer. My Birthday, Xmas, and New Years is coming up and I need to be in the gym. This is just most frustrating.

Okay, so I have gotten down to the weight I wanted to. Now, I thought I should start maybe building some more muscle, but the more and more I think about it. I still need to lower my bodyfat percentage. There is still that layer of fat in the stomach area that I really want to shrink. I am just not sure how to go about it. I do cardio at least 8 times a week. I try to stay away from alot of carbs. I work on my abs regularly and up until Monday when I ran out, I was taking a fat burner. Drink plenty of water. I`m just not sure what else there is to do. Am I on the right path and its just going to take awhile or is there some things that I could be doing more of or better to kick this whole thing into high gear? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Happy Turkey Day

Have a good one tomorrow, fellow BodySpacers! This the one day I miss out on living in the U.K. The only positive is, I don`t have to worry about pigging out.

Well, this weekend, I ate a bunch of crap. 2 large bags of Doritos with Salsa dip. I cooked up a pack of Ribs, with a salad. Then I topped that off with a bag of peanut M&M`s. I got it all out of my system and now can go right back to my regular diet. It was good though. I think I need something like that every few months or so. I still hit the gym pretty hard both Saturday and Sunday so hopefully there won`t be too many ill-effects.

If someone told me that I would weigh 237.4lbs on November 15th 2007, I would have told them they were nuts, but that is what it said when I jumped on the scale this morning at the gym after my run. I have to say that I am pretty happy with that. I thought that it would take me to at least a week before my birthday on the 5th to hit 240lbs, but I have surpassed it.
I think now that I have hit that goal, its time to start building some real lean muscle. I’d like to gain a good 10lbs of lean mass by February. I`m not really sure how long something like building lean muscle takes. I`ve never in my life actually went out purposely to gain weight, so this is totally uncharted territory for me. I`ll probably start doing less cardio, so no more cardio 2 a days. I think I`ll just do cardio in the morning then weights at night. Also add a protein with some more calories like True Mass instead of Syntha -6.If anyone has some suggestons on best ways to build lean muscle, please let me know.
Thanks

I had been pretty sick with flu like symptoms and a throat infection but I’m still working out. I feel like shit before, but after the workout I feel great. The problem is that if I don`t actually take a break from working out, I`m going to be sick longer. I’m on a roll though, so I don`t really want to stop. I have a little more than 3 weeks before my 31st birthday and more importantly the end of my goal of getting down to 240lbs and having a 38 inch waist. I really can`t stop now.

I am pretty surprised that I hit 242lbs this week. Last Saturday I headed out with a few of the fellas for a weekend of debachery and mayhem which ended up with lots and lots of drinking, as ya do. I missed the gym Saturday and Sunday. I did however kick it up a nothch to make up for it this week doing 3 two a days and lots of cardio. I guess the hard work paid off and I`ve managed to drop 2.2 lbs in a week. I have 2lbs to go before I hit my goal. I also realize that I need to work my abs about as hard as any other muscle I do. I do work on them, but a few sets here and there each week. I should do what I do for chest which is like 4 or 5 different excercises hitting the various muscles from different angles. I can lose all the weight I want but I`ll never see my abs unless I build them up.
On a total unlrelated note. I have been perusing the profiles of BodySpace and just was curious. First off, I`ll say that the women who do figure are beautiful , graceful, and very sexy. What they do takes some serious dedication and I applaud them for their extremely hard work. The thing that makes me kind of laugh is the poses. Well, not so much the poses as just the one pose which I guess is supposed to show off their backs. Why must their arms be so far away from their bodies. I know, its like the equaivalent of a lat spread, but how do you girls walk like that? Is it a comfortable position because it doesn’t look it? I`m just curious. I`m not bashing it. I mean I`m sure that those are the rules as far as poses go. Anyway, that`s my 2 cents or pence, depending where you’re from.
