I do not like week 7

I do not like week 7. On Friday, I finished week 6. It was a good week, but have I mentioned I don’t like week 7. I started week 7 this morning of iwant6packabs. It’s not that it is bad or poorly designed–oh no, on the contrary, it is designed to perfectly attack my weakness. I don’t like feeling weak nor failing to hit 30 reps. Well, my emotions do not matter. This is a matter of will. I look forward to Wednesday and doing better than I did today.

Week 7 is an introduction to Arnel’s Spartan 300 series stuck in the middle of his ab series. Mostly it is a bunch of (forgive the spelling) polymetrics. There was one explosive move after another. Jump Squats, staggered pushups, lunges where you switch feet in the air, more pushups where your hands leave the ground and burpees these plus other exercised proved tough. Those jumping moves are very rough for me. The regular series starts again next week but there still, thankfully, some strength building exercises in week 7 as well. I think I can’t post this week’s video since it is on MetaCafe and not Youtube. The other weeks are posted on my page if anyone wants to check them out.

Oh man, I did it and I’m so glad week 7 is done.
Today, I was determined to hit 30 each.
    Jump Squat (30 reps) done.
Staggered pushups (30 reps) Oh, 15 were so hard but I did it broken in two.
Alternating Split Jump (30 reps) These are kind of like lunges where you jump and switch legs in the air. These used to be hard for me. I felt great and had good form. 2 at 15.
Explosive pushups (30 reps) I was able to force my self to do 10…there was no way I could hit 15. I did 3 at 10.
Prison squat (30 reps) I’m now all tuckered out. 3 at 10.
Hindu pushups (30 reps) These are tough for my back so I was careful. Wow, I felt these in my shoulders. 3 at 10.
Kneeling Band Row (30 reps) Cable pulls substituted.
Burpees (30 reps) These were just sorry looking in the end–ugly but done. 3 at 10.
Pull ups (30 reps) Assisted machine set to 145lbs I was barely able to hit 30. My biceps were throbbing when I rested. I boosted rest here.
Double Crunch (30 reps) 3 at ten.
When I mopped up the mat with a towel, I had to do it twice because as I was bending over to clean up, sweat was still pouring off of me. I rested and tried to add my supplemental workout. Usually I do dead lifts and some shoulder specific exercises. Today when I tried the dead lifts I felt light headed and slightly sick. I had to sit and rest. Probably served me right for not eating–I ran out of energy and just hit a wall.
