Calories & Macros

So I mapped out a eating schedule for tomorrow as advised to me from a fellow bodyspace member.  I plugged it into fitday and wow am I so off when it comes to my numbers.  I’m 5′2" and 197lbs last time I weighed myself and a strict vegetarian looking to loose fat and gain and maintain muscle.  With my body muscle gain is easy fat loss is hard.  My fitday food summary is: calories-1210, fat g-24.7, carb g-197.6, protein g-64.3.  It’s definitely not enough food intake and not a good protein to carb ratio.  Any advice and again I’m not interested in eating meat.  The core of my diet is eggs, beans, broccoli, nuts, oatmeal (rolled oats), whey protein powder, and casein protein powder.

My diet has so far been pretty decent I’m still unemployed so I have been sticking to cheap items like rolled oats, beans, tofu, eggs, and frozen veggies.  I’m living at home with the parents and my dad, younger sister, and younger brother constantly have chips, cookie, soda, etc around the house.  My younger bro and sis don’t have to worry about gaining weight and my dad is at the age where he doesn’t care.  I find myself the past couple days, rocking all of my hard work either part way through the day or at night.  A few cookies, some soda, bean burrito run to taco bell since they’re $1 and I always regret eating it the next morning.  I don’t know if I just don’t know how to find the right foods to snack on or if I’m eating the junk out of boredom and frustration cuz I’m mostly stuck in the house with nothing to do once I’m done with my exercise portion of the day.  Any advice……

Update on fat loss or lack there of

I have worked hard this week trying to exercise and eating healthy and clean 90% of the time. This week I have eaten eggs, beans, veggies, and rolled oats no more instant (yuck- still gettin used to it). I only use ms dash, occ small portion of salt (a pinch-literally), or salsa. My workout this week:

tues: 6:30-7:30 Pole dance fitness ~ 7:30-8:30 Pole dance fitness
wed: 6:30-7:30 Pole dance fitness
thurs: 6:30-7:30 Pole dance fitness
sat: 11:00-12:00 yoga/power yoga ~ 12:00-1:00 Exotic Chair dance fitness

Guess how much weight I’ve lost this week 0.2lbs ~ are you frickin kidding me. This is the BS that rocks my motivation, so I’m gonna try and kick it up another notch this wk coming up. Here’s my workout for the wk of 11/17-11/23:

mon: Biceps/Triceps ~ 4:15-5:00 zumba ~ 5:30-6:30 Pole dance fitness ~ 6:30-7:30 Exotic chair dance fitness
tues: Glutes ~ 6:30-7:30 Pole dance fitness ~ 7:30-8:30 latin dance aerobics
wed: Chest/Back ~ 12:15-1:00 cardio dance ~ 5:15-6:00 cycle ~ 6:30-7:30 Pole dance fitness
thurs: 4:15-5:00 circuit training ~ 5:30-6:30 exotic chair dance fitness ~ 6:30-7:30 pole dance fitness
fri: 12:15-1:00 cycle ~ 5:30-6:30 exotic chair dance fitness ~ 6:30-7:30 pole dance fitness

If this doesn’t help me drop some pounds then I guess I’m mean’t to be fat for the rest of my life.

Breakfast yummy

So I started off bad this morning, I have been craving this cake my dad bought for the past 3-4 days so today I gave into temptation and had a small piece while making some coffee.  I don’t feel bad about it and better to eat it early in the a.m. then be sneaking a piece late at night.  Ok, so cake aside, I tried to make some old fashioned oats twice and it went just awful, I burned them on the stove d***n near exploded them in the microwave and after all of that I just could not stomach them at all.  So instead for breakfast I made:

~*~ one packet of instant oatmeal with a Tbs of flax seeds and honey/cinnamon

~*~ 1/2 cup cottage cheese

~*~ 1/2 cup sliced beet with a dash of salt and a Tbs of italian dressing

Weird but delicious breakfast, I was craving beets, it’s funny I used to hate them.

Brand spankin new sample menu

I just put together a new sample menu to go off, like literally just made it 5 minutes ago. I am usually not to smart when it comes to the diet aspect of losing weight so I figured I’d bring it to the forum to get sum tough luv and figure out whether this is a good menu or not. So before you give advice let me tell you a little bit more about what I eat, I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, I Do Not eat beef, poultry, pork, and seafood. I do eat eggs, milk products, soy (fake meat) products, tofu, very few fruits (I am allergic to alot of them especially bananas). ALSO, I am  in no way shape or form interested in switching back to eat meat.  If only I had the same dedication going vegetarian that I do trying to stick to a diet.  I don’t count calories or macros, dieting is already hard add an extra challenge and it’s harder for me to stick with. I am a total endomorph, gaining muscle is easy losing fat is a major challenge. Ok that’s enough about me hehe, here’s my sample menu:

Meal 1 ~ 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites mixed with half cup ea of chopped tomato and spinach; 1 packet of instant grits

Meal 2 ~ 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese; 1 piece whole wheat toast with 1/4 tsp margarine; handful of mixed nuts

Meal 3 ~ 3/4cup Mock Tuna Salad (mashed chickpeas, fat free ranch dressing- i hate mayo, honey/brown mustard, salt/pepper); 1 boiled egg white; 1 piece whole wheat toast

Meal 4 ~ 1 boca burger; 1/2-1 cup steamed broccoli drizzled in 1/4tsp olive oil; brown rice; 1/2cup tomato sauce (before working out)

Meal 5 ~ 1 boca burger; 1/2-1cup steamed broccoli; 1/2 cup salsa; or protein shake w/ water or fat free lactaid milk (after working out)

Meal 6 ~ 98% fat free butter popcorn or casein protein shake w/ water

Ok so there is my meal plan let me know what you think.  Thanks to anyone and everyone who offers advice it is much appreciated.

Junk Food Motivation

So today is the second day that I have gone to the gym and the people up front are chowing down on McDonalds filling the lobby with the smell of burgers and french fries.  All I can think is omg are you kidding me.  Where does eating McDonalds food and motivating people to be healthy and fit co-mingle!?  No where, if so your favorite bodybuilding hottie would have a Big Mac, fries, and a McFlurry on there diet menu.  I don’t know why it is irritating me so much but it’s like why in the gym of all places where people are busting there butt to fight the battle of the bulge are you as an employee eating junk.  So that is my rant, I’m done I’d love to hear/read other people’s thoughts on this.

11 days left to meet my most recent short term goal (185lbs and 30% BF), I’m 3lbs and 2% away from the goal, I need to crack down on the cardio.  I just started doing some plyo and at home weight free workouts on the days that I’m working 10-12 hrs and don’t have the time to get to the gym.  Cardio wise, I’m trying to pick up hiking, sprinting, and jogging/walking on the treadmill.  I also need to get some more control on the diet too, I’m eating clean about 80-85%.  I’m cutting water back to 1/2 gallon a day, way to many bathroom trips with a gallon.

So I’m like completely flat broke and running low on food and I have let myself fall prey to the free junk food that is laying around my job and house. I tell myself no and the reasons why I shouldn’t eat it and what it’ll do to my body but I still end up eating the junk for one reason or another.  They just taste good, everyone else is eating them, or I’m really hungry.  I was doing so good eating clean to grrr.  This is so frustrating.

So I posted up a sample menu I want to say 2 days ago and pleaded for advice and got none.  What’s the point of even posting stuff in my blog if no one reads it, if it was gonna be for just me to read and think about then I would have never posted it.  I’ve gotten one person lately who’s been giving me advice but it seems like if I don’t hunt people down and send individual messages then I just get ignored.  I guess no matter whether your trying to loose weight on your own or apart of a community you’ll always feel like your by yourself in this.  What a way to start my morning :-(
