Depressed, In a Funk, Blue….

Two days of no exercising other than shoveling the snow this morning that worked up a sweat.  I’m definitely not expending enough calories to be losing any weight.  I am in such a funk, two days ago I quit my job tired of putting up with the constant verbal abuse and degradation from my manager.  I am glad I no longer have to put up with it but am not so happy to join the ranks of the unemployed yet again.  I’m back to stressin about money and getting a job and every time I turn around I’m getting another migraine cuz I’m stressin myself out.  I just can’t get myself out of this funk I am in and get my head back in the game (the weight loss game).  Any suggestions?

I have been in a personal ‘funk’ this last year (no work, no school, lost 3 incredibly close people to me) but you have to use that frustration to achieve your physical goals.Try to separate out personal obstacles from your physical capabilities. The lack of control you probably feel with everything can be somewhat mitigated by taking control of your fitness and diet. Look at it is a powerful escape/distraction. It’s something that you can ACHEIVE and acheivment is what gives us humans satisfaction :) …don’t overthink it, just do it girl!!! stay consistent is the most important thing, do not quit do not quit

Well the best way I can think of on how to get out of your funk is first you have to change your mindset. I know you have quit a few things on the table such as getting a new job. But you have to not stress over the things you cant control and work on the things you can control. The same way you decided to leave your job is the same way you have to be able getting in shape to see progress.

When I hear that someone is at the gym working out and not burning the calories, I question the intensity of there workout. There is a difference in going to the gym and moving some weights around and going to the gym and working out.

Turn all that negative energy that is floating around you into positive energy. i would start the day with my job search schedule, then I would go to the gym and use the positve ener gy to build upon my day.

Use small postive goals to help eliminate as much stress as you can. the more positive you feel about the day, the more positive you feel about your work outs, the more you will move out of the funk you are talking about.
