Upcoming race
I registered today to run a half marathon on Sunday. It’s been a year and a half since my last one, so it will be interesting to see what sort of progress I can make. My time then was 1:38; I hope to finish in under 1:34 this time.
Although most facets of my fitness program have tailed off, running is going well. Last week I ran 40 miles, my highest mileage week ever. Tuesday I had my best interval workout yet, running intervals of 2 x 1.25 miles and 2 x 1 mile, with each interval at a pace of about 6:30 min/mile.
My half marathon time should be a good gauge of my current overall fitness level. In the meantime, I’m trying modestly to control my food intake and lose some weight. I’ll report again when the half marathon is over.

You are definately showing speed that I could only dream about. Good luck tomorrow. I too am signed up for a 1/2 marathon tomorrow, but since I’ve only been back running this week I know it’s an impossibility. The race also has a 5K. Do you think I should race tomorrow, or should I continue training and wait until the end of the month for my first race?

How completely BAD A$$ of you and your fitness levels for signing up for a half-marathon on Friday and running it TWO DAYS LATER!!! *bows down to you*!!
Best of luck with the half, and your stats are absolutely amazing!! Signed up for one in January and I’m just hoping to finish! lol Definitely let us know the results, my friend!!
