Bodyspace glitch

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

That’s weird.  All of my latest goals in Bodyspace have been deleted and have reverted to the earlier, December goals, so it shows that my goals have expired.  If they don’t return I will have to reenter everything. It’s a good thing I’m keeping logs in hard copy as well.

Good news today on measurements:  My weight hit a new low of 168.4 pounds, and bodyfat maintained at the low of 19.6% that I reached yesterday.  If I can get my weight down under 165 it should have some positive impact on my running (I’ve read every pound lost can equate to 1% improvement in time, although that sounds like a lot).

I’m trying to keep up the cardio to continue burning more calories than I take in.  The harder part is watching what I eat, because I love to eat.

I must say it’s awfully easy to be motivated to exercise in California in the spring.  The weather lately has been spectacular — mild and consistently sunny.  Flowers are abloom everywhere, birds are singing, the whole vernal nine yards.

I’ve given up for now on trying to gain muscle.  I’m going to focus for the next few months on improving endurance and losing body fat (especially in the abdomen), and I use weight lifting to try to complement and assist these goals.

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since my last post.  It’s been a bad month for working out because work has been so busy, but at least I’ve managed to lose some weight lately.  My latest BF percentage is the lowest I’ve achieved yet since starting this a little over five months ago.  I’m still aiming to lose a lot more before June, and I still plan to do the triathlon in June as well.  My training lately has been terrible, though, so I have to ramp it up immediately.  The achilles tendon still has not healed fully and certainly will prevent me from training for the running leg as much as I would like.  I will have to focus on the bike and swim segments.

I ran five miles on Wednesday at a fairly easy pace in 44:14.  Fast running hurts my tendon more so I kept the pace down.  I’ll go back into the gym today.

Work has eased up a bit so it’s time to get back into it.  No more slacking.
