Some progress and day off
Good news is the scale this morning said 170 lbs and 19.9% bodyfat — the first time I’ve reached that low in either measurement since I started this a few weeks ago.
The bad news is my Achilles tendon is definitely sore today, not horribly so, but enough that I’ll probably catch some flak from my physical therapist later this morning. It’s the last day of the month and I have a ton of work to do at the office anyway so I’m going to take the day off any exercise, give my tendon a rest. I’ll have to lay off the running for at least another week and maybe try some biking or swimming. It’s too bad, because as I ran along the river yesterday I could feel that old surge of desire to keep going longer and faster and I had too rein it in. Got to take it slow now if I want to get back to it later.

Hey guy I don’t know what type of shoes you have but I had problems like you with my Achilles and my doc told me to get the best pair of shoes I could buy. It made a big difference. Also I spoke to a track coach at the local college who happened to also be a PT and he told me that my running style was all wrong. I was always taught heel to toe but he said that was wrong you’re suppose to strike the ground with your fore foot. Made a huge difference in the way I ran. Try it and see if it helps.

Hee, I’ve definitely been called "non-compliant" by my PT’s on more than one occasion… but what I definitely learned not being able to run this whole year is to really pay attention, especially with the Achilles! Hope you recover soon and you come back strong!

Patience, Patience Patience…take things slow, give yourself extra off days, and listen to your body. Good luck with your goals, you’re doing great.
