PRE-WORKOUT ENERGY COCKTAIL
Don’t try this at home! LOL! This pre-workout energy cocktail has been working for me when taken just before gym workouts. Using this cocktail I am typically blowing 3 to 7 repetitions past my cumulative marks for three sets throughout my workouts.
3-4 ounces of strong coffee
3-4 ounces of pure unsweetened fruit juice
1 scoop of Muscle Milk protein powder
1 teaspoon of creatine monohydrate
2 - 200 m.g. caffeine tablets
Added today 2 - 200 m.g. caffeine tablets to the cocktail. The jolt on my system of two (2) cups of coffee made me a little dizzy but I went ahead with my workout (my friend on Cyprus tells me that workout stimulatants should be cycled as the body gets used to [or immune] to them - I’ll experiment with this and see how much time is best between usage):
Side & Rear Deltoids & Trapezius
Alternating Bent Over (a padded chair) DB Rows: Three sets of 70, 75 & 80 lbs ascending. Previous workout’s reps. - 12,8,5. Tonight’s workout’s reps. - 14,10,8. Net increase: 7 reps.
Cross body cables (for mid/lower trapezius): Three sets of 105, 110, 115 lbs. ascending. Previous workout’s reps. - 13,7,4.5. Tonight’s workout’s reps. - 14,10,7. Net increase: 6.5 reps.
Total Abdominal Crunch Machine (seated upright): Three sets of 140,145,150 lbs. ascending. Previous workout’s reps. - 17,12,5. Tonight’s workout’s reps. - 30,23,12. Net increase: 31 reps.
Lateral Deltoid Raise Machine (seated upright): Three sets of 75,80,85 lbs. ascending. Previous workout’s reps. - 13,8,x. Tonight’s workout’s reps. - 17,12,12. Net increase: 8 reps. (This is unrealistically low net increase as wt. was stepped up five lbs. from prior workout).
Hanging (from overhead handgrips with wrist straps) Bent Knee Crunches: Two sets: Previous workout’s reps. - 20,12. Tonight’s workout’s reps. - 25,18. Net increase: 11 reps. (For past several weeks it has been all I could do to eke out an increase of one rep. on each set of this exercise. Eleven reps. represents an "animal-like" infusion of energy.)
Dumbell Lateral Flys: Two sets of 25,30 lbs. ascending. Previous workout’s reps. - 11,6. Tonight’s workout’s reps. 13,x. Net increase in reps.: Two (Despite the fact that I was off to a good start of a two rep. increase on the first set, I decided to suspend for the evening and not do the second set with the 30 pounders. Having had a problem with tender shoulders in the past, I decided to be satisfied with the HUGE gains up to now, and to end the workout for the evening).
The pre-workout cocktail had been giving me large performance gains up to this evening. The addition of the two caffeine tablets appeared to produce a veritable quantum leap of strength and energy.

Today’s wkout’s reps.: 17 14 9 - Net increase in reps. + 6
Overhead Cross Cable Machine Two Handed (Wrist Strap Assisted) On Knees Crunches
Weight in lbs.: 18/45 19/47 20/50
Previous wkout’s reps.: 18 12 new
Today’s wkout’s reps.: 28 20 13 - Net increase in reps. + 18

WARNING: If any readers of this blog decide to try the cocktail, I recommend that they cut back on the strength of the ingredients and test their tolerance for the cocktail before attempting it full strength. Also, it is be adviseable to check with one’s personal physician as to individual sensitivity to or intolerance for the ingredients that could produce physical or mental reactions that could make the taking of the cocktail inadviseable on an individual basis (Note: That I experienced dizziness after taking the two 200 m.g. caffeine tablets in conjunction with the cocktail).

Wow–those are some IMPRESSIVE reslts! You’re strength is definitely improving. Are you noticing any gains in overall muscle as well? Great work–keep it up and post some progress pics soon. Phil
