Heavy Squats

After a warmup of 3 x 10 of the following…Pushups, Pullups, Dips & Situps I went for today’s CrossFit WOD of 5×5 Squats.

My Previous 1RM was 315#. Tonight I did some heavy amounts until my low back gave out in the 3rd set…had to wrap it up.

1×5…275#

1×5…295#

1×4…315#…..ouch!!!

Near Death Experience

Wow…tonight was hard. Because of my heavy travel schedule over the summer I haven’t gotten the chance to workout much. Tonight was my first workout in over 2 weeks & I thought I was going to die:) I did a modified CrossFit WOD…here it is.

3 sets…of 21 - 15 & 9 reps of the following…

135# Thrusters

KTEs (Knees to Elbows)

Burpees

PUllups

I thought I was going to throw up most of the time.

What a Trip

Just returned from a 10 day trip to Honduras that included 3 days of diving off of Roatan island. Great diving!!! Eels, turtles, groupers, HUGE crabs, Lobster, & a school of large Carribean Reef sharks on the last dive. Sweet! The downside is it looks like I put on about 5 lbs of "fluff" around my middle that I need to get rid of. Time to pay the price for poor eating & little exercise:)

Honduras Trip

Wow, what a trip! We (group of 23) were supposed to fly out of Seattle on Sunday night. Due to hurricane Ike that flight was canx & set up a chain of incredible events. The short story is that most of our group (15) spent 3 days & 2 nights in airports and were finally routed through Mexico City where our direct flight to Honduras was canx (ON THE TAXI WAY) due to closed airspace because of an airshow celebrating Mexico´s independence day. This caused 2 more days of waiting for the next direct flight…tomorrow. We are making the best of it & the group has an awesome attiude. The bonus is that we got to tour the historic sections of Mexico City as well as the ancient Aztec & pre-aztec pyramids of the area. Those were cool. Hopefully we make our destination tomorrow & catch up with the other 7 from our group who are actually working!

Push Jerks

Today’s WOD was Push Jerks 5 x 3. It was only my 2nd time doing push jerks & have a hard time with good form. Not to mention that my shoulders are my weakest bodypart. In spite of those 2 things I was pleased with my lifts for my size (42 yo/ 5′11"/170#) So, after my warm up of 3×10 of Pullups, Pushups, Situps &  Dips I did the following…

1st Set…115#

2nd Set…135#

3rd Set…155#

4th Set…155#

5th Set…165#

A good night
