Hernia slowing me down

The last two weeks have really stunk when it comes to working out.  If you have ever worked out with a hernia you know you can go months feeling great and then with one wrong move(mine was one squat too deep) you are in uncomfortable pain for a while.  I had to skip the gym except cardio for the last 10 to 14 days to get it back to normal.  Finally hitting the gym today and getting back to it(just no deep squats).  Gotta drop 13lbs at least before sept 8(have a 10day mountain climb planned).  Time to get busy again.

Need advice on carb cutting

Im looking to do my first true cutting phaze over the next 8 weeks.  Im gonna crank my cardio up and eat very clean, the one thing I dont fully understand is how to manage my carbs.  I see alot of great bodies in here always stating that they are restricting there carbs so that they can decrease their body fat.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Also if there are any alternatives to hydroxycuts that have worked for anyone I would love to hear. Thanks.

Anyone know why the shelves are empty on Hydroxycuts.  I went there today to try and begin my socalled cutting phase and they were no where to be found.  Anyone have any suggestions for an alternative?  Im up to 238lbs and Im looking to get down around 220lb just in time for the beach.  Hope everyone had a great weekend, and keep pushing the iron.

Im starting a detox tomorrow that is suppose to get a rid of all my toxins, drop my body weight(which I really need) and hopefully assist me on getting on the right road for my dieting.  It consists of just using lemon juice, syrup, cayenne pepper and water(Ill squeeze some protein shakes in also) over a 10 day period.  If anyone has any experience with this or suggestions please let me know.  Im gonna blog on each day on what Im going through and the amount of weight that I have lost.  Any input would be much appreciated.

Last night I was at the gym( I know most regular people are out at dinner or clubs drinking and eating).  I had a different goal for my Friday, trying to bench press 320lbs.  The gym was quiet except for the normal faces you see there most nights, the faces of people who love the iron.  Dont get me wrong Im not a big muscular guy(even though Im trying like hell).  Well I was doing well on my warmups and on my 3rd set I put 275 up 4 almost 5 times.  I slammed the 6 45s and the 2 2.5s and set there trying to focus.  I must not have looked very confident because three guys that workout together(big guys) came over from the squat rack and said come on lets do this.  They cut time out of their workout to help  this 6′5 stranger with his ipod on.  You could tell they really cared about me reaching this goal.  I didnt get it all the way up(but I did keep my form) I needed a little help, but it didnt matter.  When I stood up they slapped me on the back, gave me some advice and said in two weeks that weight would fall.  As I left the gym(to go home to chicken breasts and veges) I looked inside the pizza place next door and saw people and familys just loading that junk into their bodies and realized that Im glad Im a small part of the brother(and sister) hood of iron.  People who just love the gym, the people we meet there and the changes to our lives it makes.  For all of you big guys or fit girls out there who have helped someone in the gym or gave advice I would like to say thanks.  Have a great weekend.

Protein Pancakes MMMMM

I bought protein pancakes last night and I was expecting the worst(imagining chalking disc of paste burning on my griddle).  To my surprise they were excellent I ate 5 of them and gobbled up 25grams of protein.  Even better was that they were easy to make with little clean up.  Hopefully this will help someone else out there who cant eat tuna from the can.  Have a great workout everybody.

Great weekend

Worked out with my friend who has always been stronger than me(going on twenty years now).  We worked chest and I tore him up(and it felt DAMN GOOD).  Two friends were also at his gym that I have not seen in a few years and they all were saying how much bigger I look.  The praise felt great, because I always compare myself to the biggest guys at the gym and I honestly get down on myself.  I think alot of my changes is because of this site and the people on it.  The progess pics and the advise really helps us average joes who are trying to become above average.  Thanks everyone.

Hard leg day

March 20, 2009

I hit my legs so hard today(including 6 sets squats, 3 sets of hack squats, extentions, curls, and lunges) actually felt like I was gonna get sick.  Cant wait until tomorrow Im working out with my best friend at his gym(2 hours away) he is the one that got me started working out in high school.  I think tomorrow will be the first time that Im actually throwing around more weight than him(smiling just thinking about it).  Thank you all for the motivation and advise.
