One Rep, Two Rep
I know we’ve all got different ideas on what works and what doesn’t work, which is fine, because different bodies, mean different exercises. But I’m curious to hear how you feel on performing an exercise; do you prefer to take your time with a rep, or do you like to power your way through a set? Let me know what you think.

hmmm..good question Andre. Normally I take my time, but not too slow.. I go at a comfortable speed and make sure i always get that 1 second squeeze to contract the muscle.

Hi One_Eighty,
Your progression depends on the weights used and your goal. If you are going heavy for mass gains you’ll push those reps out. If you are going moderate for definition you’ll need to take your time (utilizing muscles throughout the entire range of motion) and focus on the isometric (the hold) during the hardest part of the exercises to focus on the stablizers and the core.
Hope that helps!

See, I’ve heard that as well, but I know that not everyone feels the same way, hence the reason I thought I’d open up the question, and see how people prefer to get it done. But thanks for the reply none-the-less!

My prefererence –> Moderate positive movement / power up… Slower Negative movement / power down… As I have been touting for year, "Appreciate the Negative"

well, the faster pace definately burns fat, but also puts you at higher injury risk cause the movement is not as controlled. A more slower movement will really activate more muscle fibers and a controlled movement always means better form therefore lower risk of injury.
