So I started mixing up my cardio program and begin to do interval training due to the advice of a friend. Call me slow but I never even noticed the "speed interval" button on the treadmills we have on base. I tried it out yesterday morning and felt good afterwards; feels a lot better than your standard long distance treadmill run. While I was nearing the end I one of the ladies that had been in there working out came over and talked to me about the 5k they do each week on base. I guess she could tell I was a newbie here and must have thought that running was fun to me…NEGATIVE!!! I do it because I know it’s a must in order to help shed the fat and to get it shape for when it comes to fitness testing time. I thought to myself’ "Do I look like a runner?". I’m 6ft 4in tall and 230 pounds so how she could mistake me for someone who likes to run is beyond me. Guess it was due to the intensity of my run while doing the speed intervals so I shall continue with this newfound way of cardio training in hopes that it will help me drop a load.

Okay so I was checking out KendaFriends (KF) page and he has his workout plan out there and calls it the "Blueprint". I copied it to a Word doc and decided to give it a try…what he hell right? So when I got off last night I swallowed down my SuperPump 250 and got prepped to hit the gym. By the way, I’m not getting that same dialed in feeling from it that I use to get from NO-Explode but I’ll continue to use it until it’s gone.
So I make my way to the gym and as I do at the beginning of all my workouts I do a 10 minute warm-up jog on the treadmill. I started with the Day 2 workout since I had already worked legs the other day and that’s what Day 1 called for. I chose to work within the 10-12 rep range also so I didn’t go real heavy. Well after the warm-up set on the bench I noticed my chest was flared like I had been tossing around weights all day. I figured I was just seeing things and paid it no attention. That’s until I got going with the workout and it continued to have that pumped look throughout. I contributed it to the SuperPump since I’d never gotten this type of pump from the NO-Explode during the months I used it. Or maybe it was the workout plan, "Blueprint", that KF had put together which targeted all the right areas and fibers in the muscle groups I was working. Nonetheless there was a noticeable change at workouts end, one I hadn’t seen before.
I kept it moving and completed the workout in about an 1/1.25 hours and felt like a beast afterwards. As I took a stroll back to the FOB, Forwarding Operating Base for those unwise to the military slang, I passed this female and dude and she commented on how nice my upperbody looked. Talk about grinning from ear to ear; I replied thanks and pressed on. All the while still blushing at what had just happened. I made it to my room and after supplementing and taking in that last protein meal for the day I called it a night.
Morale of this story/blog…there isn’t one. I just wanted to share my experience with KF’s "Blueprint" and although this was just the first day I think if I stick with it I’m bound to make some very noticeable gains and carve out my dream body.
Until Lata,
1 Deep
