Oh my God!! I actually had a talk to someone at the gym today and now I am panicking about the possibility of my whole work out being taken up with talks. Actually it was nice I think some of the guys were surprised I had a voice and I received a couple of acknowledgements after.
My bench press is doing so well, I have put it up another 5kgs and now am about to go heavier and add another 5! I have added nearly 20kgs in 3 months……I also have gone from doing my dips on a bench with feet on the floor to now doing bench to bench with 5kgs in my lap…easily! I will have to go up another 5 in this as well. I am loving my workouts although my cardio is suffering…and my pants feel a little tight…My diet is not clean enough at the moment to not do cardio.
Longer cardio session tomorrow…got to fit into the pants…

Back to the tin shed this morning for my shoulders and abs. Am bored stupid with my old shoulder routine so I have included a couple of new ones.
I did shoulder presses (I normally do miltary presses), Bench pulls (a new one from the Oxygen magazine), upright rows (haven’t done them before) and I tried to get on the cable row and pull the cable up to eye height for rear delts. This didn’t work so well as the tin shed doesn’t have great equipment and was making a clunking sound!! of course then did my raises (boring) and moved on the abs, decline crunches (limited movements and very slow) and normal on the mat crunches (driving my abs into the ground, controlled)…..20min cardio….hope my shoulders are sore tomorrow!!!!
Eating much better, lots of protein, a little bit at a time (it upsets my stomach) and lots of fruit, veg and salad…
Quite tired after that workout and legs are quite sore after last time, but not as sore as last weeks…thank god!

So I have had a lovely 6 days off. Back to gym this morning after dropping kids to school. Leg day! Have decided to do legs x 2 week now as they are the area I want to see some improvement.
Squats, Deadlifts, One Leg Squats, Leg Curls, Leg Extensions and Calf Raises…my legs were shaking, I was barely able to do my 10min cool down and stretches…
Any advice? Should I be doing my Deadlifts on my leg day but move them to my back day therefore only 1 a week??
I am really working on my diet this week…….
I love being back

I am so tired, really, really tired! I have decided to take a few and no less than 4 days off. I hate to admit it but I need for my body to take a break. My muscle soreness has been lasting and lasting and with school holidays I have not the energy for 100 % with the kids.
So it is eating a little more and resting…and I will be ready to roll….hard…again.
Not planning to drop my bundle..purchased new workout pants today and loaded 3 new songs on my ipod to workout to!!!!

So I am still at the tin shed, I know, I have been meaning to go and check out some more gyms but…..I am doing some awesome workouts there and love the atmosphere.
Did my legs on Saturday and today I still can’t vacuum my floors!! I included the leg up on the bench behind me lunges (anyone? anyone? know the name??) and added another 5kgs to my squat and deadlift. I am sure I can go at least 5 or 10 more but I don’t have a spotter I ask someone on my next leg day. My DOM’s are so bad but I figure that is only going to get better as the weeks go on then I will change my routine again to torture myself.
My eating is a lot better but still not enough protein consistently.
Have been working on being a little bit more socialable in the gym and it worked. I think guys must not even acknowledge women until they get the nod…ok..I’ll give the nod and smile but I am still not talking…thank god for the ipod

So I decided not to join the new, great equipment, air conditioned and CHEAPER gym!! Why you ask? Well I just didn’t get a good vibe there and it wasn’t that friendly. So yesterday back to my tin shed with the old equipment and the people who still don’t talk to me but don’t have their heads up their #@#$ either!!
Did a great chest/tricep workout yesterday. The gym was packed and I had to guard my bench press and bench’s like a lioness with her cubs. All the young guys probably believed they had more of a right to work there than I did but tough!! Am really racking up the numbers on my lifts and feeling so strong and fit!
So today is my abs and longer cardio day so a friend took me to her spin class. I really enjoyed it and loved the friendly feel of the place. Handled the pace well and felt it in my legs after. I think it will be good to do this once a week along with my basketball and treadmill after workouts….I am sure the spinning is not so hard on my knees.
I will go a workout at this gym, it has all the things except for a squat rack!! It does have 2 smith machines…so does anyone know if this will stuff up my leg workouts?? This gym is very well run and might be worth joining.
Ahh I just made the most awesome shake using a carton of protein shake, additional scoop of protein and peanut butter….yummmmmmmmmmmm

I really do not like them!!! I know they are necessary!! I know it is when my muscles grow!!! and I know I need them!! Why do I feel so wrong when I have them??
I still really love going to the gym and working out, I mean LOVE IT!!! so I think I am mourning my workouts..lol. Seriously I’ll have to get something else in my life!
Because I had a rest day and because I was home therefore I read the local paper and found a new gym just down the road!! It is only 2 years old and must have been built when I was overseas. Anyway it will be $600 a year cheaper than my $4 pay as you go gym. My pay as you go gym does not work out cheap when you go 6 times a week! This new gym is run by a competition bodybuilder woman….that’s gotta help! I will go tomorrow to check it out.
See having a rest day enables you to look into some things…….lovely having a couple of extra hours a day

So today is my chest and tricep day and with my husband as my spotter on my bench press I still wanted to see how fat I could push myself so I needed to get rid of my "%#@# off" face at the gym and put on my "would you mind spotting me" face..lol
Of course I was nervous about asking for help at this gym because I really have not spoken to anyone in the time I have been there, not even a smile! I picked my mark well and now won’t have any trouble asking again. I wish I could ask to be spotted for pull up but that is so personal…lol. I am at the stage that I have to bite the bullet and start, my old spotter (my husband) says that I could do 5 easily….can I???? I will wait for the quiet morning gym time, could be embarassing..
So busted my chops on bench, chest flies, dip and more dips, kickbacks and extensions. Am already feeling it in my triceps, and I feel good.
Did a fantastic HIIT cardio session after with my new best friend my heart rate monitor and boy am I fit at the moment!!! I love that monitor, how can you go slow when you have that thing beeping at you??? lol I did my fitness test twice over the last week and came up in the elite range…I must be doing something right…..
I must have let my guard down a bit with the little bit of gym friendliness because the receptionist and I compared hard spots on our hands (which gloves don’t prevent) and our panick over the possibility of the dreaded "MAN HANDS" on the way out!! Must put my bit#h face on for tomorrow….at least until the next chest day

Haven’t blogged for a while but going great guns with my workouts. Really still very committed with going and getting there with the food!!
Have added 12 kgs to bench and squats and my shoulder presses are now at 7.5kgs. I am loving going to the gym and love how strong I am getting.
I received a heart rate monitor for Xmas and it is my new best friend. It has made my cardio sessions so much more intense. It was nice doing a fitness test twice on the monitor and getting my elite reading…lol
So the Country move is finished, house unpacking inc finally the airfreight finished, family holiday is finished, Christmas at my house finished, all the leftovers finished, New Years Eve finished and now my husband has gone back to Russia for another 2 months!!!!!!! and now I am exhuausted!!! I can’t believe I have done so much in such a short time.
I am looking forward to being with the kids and getting to the gym this year with a little more time up my sleeves.
Progress pics have been taken and now I just have to load them…………………………………. ….
