Strong At The Gym But Eating Tooooooooo Much

Man, I am trying hard to stop eating but with the family holiday and then 2 days later all my family arrive at my house with food, drink and Christmas spirit!! So although I have been going to the gym and busting my a$$ there is the big issue of the food intake.

In some ways I can’t wait until this is all over, time then to set my new goals, and really knuckle down. I am aiming to enter a 5kms race and do a fantastic time whilst building a LOT of muscle.

Husband A Handy Spotter!

So tonight I go the gym with my husband for only the 2nd time (he has been o/s etc) and gee it’s nice to have a spotter!!

I never push myself to the absolute limit when benching or squatting, as I don’t have anyone to save me should the thing go pear shaped…but tonight was different. Lovely to be able to put more weight on, and also to finish a set. Will take him everytime now until he leaves again on the 5th Jan. I am going to get him to spot me for my pull ups……

Great chest/tri workout tonight with bench press, incline bench press, dips and rope extensions. I still can hardly lift my arms and feel lovely. I will be so sore tomorrow :)

10mins cardio warm up before lifting and 20m med intensity after.

Went to my wonderful massage man today about my shoulder and there is no tear and I am fine to lift. It looks like a strange bed on my holiday is the culprit. Hurray! So I went to the gym.

My family descend on me tomorrow for Xmas at my house, will still go the gym but not on Christmas day :) the gym’s closed…lol

Men and Biceps!!!! GRRRRRRRRR

Finally tonight I am back home. 11 day holiday with all my husbands family finished and we are all exhausted. I feel like such a champ - I went to the gym everyday bar one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did some good workouts and had great DOM’s whilst walking the theme parks with 13 children!

My eating was terrible whilst I away and with Xmas rolling up it is unlikely to get much better…I am working on it. I have a bloated stomach from too much beer and carbs…it will take weeks to go. :(

Was lovely wear a bikini and not to care what anyone thought of me. It seems to me that I am working as hard as I can on my body and health and my body is what my body is……

One gripe I had with the gym I was going to in Qld is the men in the squat rack doing bicep curls!!!!!!! I was getting soo  annoyed with them, everyday these men would work nothing but chest and bi’s and I mean everyday. What is it about the biceps and these guys. They need to get a better workout and get the *&*# out of the rack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRR

Rest Day Today..packing, packing, packing

Well rest day from the gym!! lol. I hardly ever have a REST day! So today I am very nicely sore in the butt and top of hammies, feel greatly tired going up my stairs. Will have to up the weights very soon as I am getting less and less sore every time after I do legs. Need to start really pushing the boundaries.

So tomorrow morning I am off to Queensland with husband, kids, aunties, uncles, cousins and nan…OMG..for 11 days. At least it will be hot and we can go to the theme parks inc Wet and Wild. Have checked out gyms in local area and plan to maintain my routine whilst there. I hope to get some beach runs in…..lovely!

I hate not going to the gym anyday…I get so restless…I miss it!

 

Leg Day…Already I Can’t Walk

Tonight went to the gym with my husband. Was quite nice to make eye contact and smile at someone!! lol

Leg workout tonight

of course usual warm up 5mins fast walk, 5m run fast

4 x 12 barbell squats

3 x 12 stiff legged deadlifts

3 x 12 weighted back lunges

3 x 12 weighted hyperextensions (I include this exercise in my back and legs days)

3 x 12 lying leg curls

2 x 30 leg extensions (light weight)

5mins treadmill cool down

Lots of hamstring and leg stretches

Couldn’t do anymore cardio after that workout, it nearly killed me.

Went out for a chicken pizza and 1 beer after….that never felt sooooo goood!!!

Eyes Down and Bit*h Face On

Had a great shoulder workout today. After yesterday I had my "do not disturb" face on. I was really into my workout and my music.

Warm up 5m fast walk, 5m very fast run

4 x 12 miltary press

4 x 12 side lateral raises

4 x 12 rear delt raises (don’t know what they are called)

4 x 12 front raises

30mins of very fast walking (you know the one where if you lose concretration you are off the treadmill )

Eating much better, even managed to make scrambled eggs this morning!! and have not snacked badly at all. Was thinking about getting back on fitday but will have to wait until after the holiday as no computer on holiday.

I have been checking out the gyms close by to where I am staying. I know my husbands family will not like me going but each to their own… I am going!!!!

Looking forward to my leg day tomorrow maybe my husband will come along?? He comes home tonight!! :)

Man Hands

Missed yesterday due to the worst day in history!! I mean worse…anyway…

Today did chest and tri’s (should have been yesterday) and abs (for today)

10m warm up (5 mins walk, 5 min hard run)

4 x 12 bench press

4 x 12 chest flies

4 x 12 dips

3 x 12 rope extensions

2 x 12 hanging leg raises

3 x 15 incline reverse leg raise

3 x 15 crunches

3 x 15 weighted machine crunches

30m fast walk after

and stretches

Felt very exhausted after but a banana in my shake fixed that!

At the gym I am very focused on my workout, I have my ipod in at all times and music on, no eye contact at all, no smiling or looking at anyone (except the receptionist). I go in the morning so there are not so many people there…..well……last week I had some regular guy trying to make eye contact with me and today he comes right up to me whilst I was filling my water and gives me a big smile. I looked like an idiot because I was so surprised and must have had such a weird look on my face….lol..tomorrow I am going in blinkers. It is not that I am not a friendly person (normally I am extremely talkative and friendly) but my gym time is exactly that!

I had to buy some gloves today as I think when my husband comes back tomorrow he is not going to be delighted with my "man hands" lol he did warn me and said he doesn’t care how many muscles I get but would find the hard hands a turn off!!!! lol fair enough!! 

My eating is still crap…but at least my protein intake is enough…arggghhhh can’t wait to get my routine in order.

Feeling Exhuasted But Still Lifting..

Oh lifting and the gym is now really my only outlet. I love to go although my life is super dooper crazy right now. My husband gets back for 1 month on Thursday and we leave for the big extended family holiday on Sunday. That means that the last week I have had to do all the Xmas shopping, wrapped, tree, lights inside and out, and food (non pershishables) shopping. All this along with settling in 1 dog and 2 cats!! and the kids have their last week of school and still settling into the house!!!!!!!!

Anyone still reading this….I’m sorry for my vent

I am working so hard at the gym, tomorrow is abs and cardio, I can’t wait. I am starting to be more confident at the gym, asking to work in with some people, and I know now where I am going and what I am using.

I am so happy with my body at the moment, looking forward to getting to the beach in my bikini and wearing shorts (1st time since childhood). Sure I would like to see my 6 pack, and have absolutely perfect legs and arse but I am not going to let that stop me from enjoying what I have worked so hard for……..
