Right in front of me at the 2009 Mr. Olympia Press Conference was none other than Shawn Ray and Lee Priest! Lee’s signature face tattoo is clearly seen here in this pic I grabbed with him after the conference ended:

Thanks for the pic, Lee!

Sweden’s own Martin Kjellstrom strips down for the crowd and shows off some monsterous white meat, LOL! Embarrassed a little because he didn’t have any color on yet, Martin still pleased the crowd with his enormous proportions!
And with that, the 2009 Mr. Olympia Press Conference is history. Thanks for tuning in to this play-by-play on Bodybuilding.com!

A couple of great audience questions on several different subjects, including "What do you wish the judges would notice about you that no one else has?" Victor, Dexter, and Toney answered about bettering themselves and that the judges will notice. Dexter commented on how he basically took this year off, and is coming in this year at the same weight as last year.
Kai Greene quips that while some judges like apples, and some judges like oranges, he loves ALL fruit, LOL.

Bob Chic makes the quip that with all the new and improved packages, this year’s Olympia must be sponsored by FedEx, LOL.

Dennis James is certain that there are easily 15 top guys here on this stage who are all Top 10 Olympia contenders. This should make for an interesting competition starting tomorrow.

Darrem expresses his thanks to all his fans, those that stop to take photos with him, etc., as the fan support means so much to the athletes.
Darrem turned pro in 1992, and is headed toward retirement in the next couple of years - it’s been a long haul, and after 70+ pro shows and 9 pro wins, Darrem is changing his physique a little bit and finally being able to show his true potential on stage.

Markus Ruhl, sponsored by Ultimate Nutrition, is out of "retirement" and ready to compete one more time and he missed hearing "RUUUHHHHLLLLL" from his fans, and even though he mentioned that New York was going to be his last show, Markus is ready and willing to compete in his 9th Olympia. While he knows that he can’t beat Dexter on stage, he can definitely beat Dexter at the dinner table, LOL.

Bob Chic giving accolades to Troy Alves for turning things around this year, from his horrible showing at the 2009 Iron Man Pro, to his winning the Europa Pro - his first pro win. Trained this year by Chris Aceto, Troy predicts his fans will be impressed tomorrow! Congrats to 43-year-old Troy Alves for finally finding his groove and his winning formula!

Dennis James explains some of the hardships and intricacies of the sport of professional bodybuilding. His formula this year has changed, but his placing isn’t paramount - his goal this year is to finally nail his conditioning on the day of the show. He believes that he has it all nailed down this time, and no matter what happens, he’ll be proud and fulfilled with his showing.
