I was waiting to say a word to Troy Alves while Victor Munoz was having a conversation with him at the recent IFBB/NPC Atlantic City Pro Am Championship.

Earlier during the competition, I was thrilled to meet Yaxeni Oriquen-Garcia.

I said hello to Munoz while he was standing with Yaxeni, but I didn’t recognize him as more than a fellow fan.

Alves was great and introduced me to him and shared that Victor Munoz trains Victor Martinez as well as Yaxeni Oriquen-Garcia! I got Victor Munoz’s autograph on my AC program and he told me his web site address: Pro-Edge.net

I was just thinking what a feat it would be for Victor and Yaxeni to take the Mr. and Ms. Olympia titles. Victor Munoz would justifiably be able to lay claim to the title of Master Blaster. It’d be Munoz’s Mecca of Muscledom until Olympia 2008!

And although I love Iris Kyle, I’m pulling for seventh-place 2006 finisher Yaxeni Oriquen in this year’s O. She won the Ms. Olympia title in 2005 while Iris is our reigning Ms. O.

Victor’s 3rd place finish in last year’s Mr. Olympia contest definitely puts him within striking distance of the crown despite obvious resistance to be found in the form of Cutler and Coleman. But with Yaxeni’s “Been There, Done That” status, and Martinez bringing an improved package plus his newly won Arnold Classic champion status to Vegas, it’s a very real possibility that both of Munoz’s athletes could take home the gold!

We are off to the real start of things. Today we had the press conference with all of the athletes. It was hosted by our own World Champion Bob Cicherillo, co-host of Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Dan Solomon, and also a totally hot Kim Lyons.

The athletes threw verbal shots at each other and answered questions and comments from the press and fans in a packed room at the Orleans Hotel. And the big guy himself, Ronnie predicted nothing but an easy win for himself. More to follow…

Hey everyone, there have been some new qualifiers to the Olympia!

Just a few hours ago, three figure competitors qualified for the Olympia.  At the Tournament of Champions in the order of their wins are:

1) Gina Aliotta
2) Tara Scotti
3) Sonia Adcock

They competed in Anaheim, California in a field of 22 pro IFBB Figure athletes. The three of them must be pretty excited to be only a few days away from the Olympia stage!

What would you be doing if you were only a few days away from being on stage as one of top competitors at the Olympia?

Well, if you are Dennis James, you would be hanging out with your buddy, show promoter Jon Lindsay, at the Tournament of Champions in Anaheim, California on Saturday!

Actually, Dennis is here in town getting in some training with Milos Sarcev at his Koloseum Gym. He looks like he is happy about his contest prep so far. The Tournament of Champions is an IFBB Pro Figure qualifier and the top three competitors will be going to the Olympia. I will let you know what happens soon!
