Attn: Olympian Travelers
Since the attempted terrorist attack in August, travelers around the world have found themselves faced with strict security restriction on items brought aboard flights. Including restricting liquids of any kind to be on your carry on. Drinks could not pass the security entrance and any drinks bought in the terminal had to be disposed of before boarding your flight.
We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for the people of the world whom consume a gallon or more of water a day. TSA announced at a press conference yesterday that, as of Tuesday, passengers can carry lotions and gels onto airliners again but only in tiny containers of 3 ounces or less and only if they’re in clear zip-top plastic bags. Passengers can also buy drinks or other liquids or gels at shops inside airport security checkpoints and carry them on board.
This statement was released from TSA (the U.S. Transportation Security Administration):
“After testing a variety of explosives, the FBI and other laboratories found that tiny amounts of substances — so small they fit into a quart-size plastic bag — can’t blow up an airliner.”
How does this new information effect the bodybuilding community? You can now bring your protein powder with you and mix it once you get inside the terminal and take it aboard the aircraft, important for people traveling cross country for event.
