God Works In Mysterious Ways..amen?
I’ve read some on this site alluring to the fact that bodybuilding might be offensive to God. Maybe it is the way some go about it, but I believe if we sincerely acknowledge His daily grace and intervening strength in our lives He will honor those who honor Him. Case in point:
I had to find someplace or way to cut a 60 second music program for my upcoming show. To do this takes some specialized software programs or studio recording equipment. I have neither. But, I find out that my church has just such equipment and kindly allowed me the time to do what was needed. I now have 3 separate music programs and several copies of each. Hey, that’s my forum signature…..Soli Deo Gloria!
I don’t see how BB is offensive to God in & of itself. It’s a ’sport’ that many pursue, with goals to achieve. Like anything else, it’s what you do with it that is the issue………we can get obsessed with having the perfect hardbody. At that pt, it’s become an idol. But making lots of money or having lots of material positions can become idols as well. I comtemplate this regularly…….hoping I keep all this in perspective as a tool to feel better, stay healthy & active in order to have better quality of life.

Sometimes, I believe it is man’s own self serving interpretation of scripture. If God gave us a home, which He did, we’d do our best to keep it looking nice. I don’t believe He wants us to neglect the up keep on our bodies either. I have no conviction concerning bb. I have "faith" that God has given and will continue to give me the strength spiritually, emotionally, and physically to succeed at this endeavor. When He doesn’t, I won’t. It’s that simple..

I, for one, KNOW that God wants us to be healthy, to be strong and physically capable of serving Him in his Kingdom. I know that he has heard my prayers in behalf of my bodybuilding goals, and that He has helped me reach them. I have been able to accomplish things beyond my natural ability. He wouldn’t have helped if He hadn’t thought it was a worthy cause.
