Heart Rate Training.

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

So, heart rate training is in full speed and is already proving to be a success.  It helps that I wake early to push myself and won’t go to bed until I have made my goals for the day.  I’m on an off week for training, so I am only doing some light whole body workouts this week.  Getting back into full training mode next week.  [This should be interesting.]  It’s been nice not being sore for the most part this week, and I know it will help me drive myself harder next week.

Still studying hard and working way too many hours.  I’ve had a lot of great support this last week.  Thank you Jamie, Leejay, Tim, and Jeff.  Jeff, I know youre not one for much competition, but the "I’ll see you tomorrow"s are always a great push in the right direction.  We’ll work on your posture, your energy, and I really hope you won’t be afraid to spot me while I use heavy weights.  I could use all the help from you I can get.

I’m meeting my goals, and I am meeting them early.  I am more dedicated to doing this now than I have been able to since last summer.  For those of you who have been following me for some time, you know that I’ve been taking classes, working multiple jobs, dealing with a family member in the hospital (who by the way is still in recovery), and trying through it all the strength to continue to work out, eat right, and get enough sleep.  The caffiene pill companies have thrived this last fall from my generous commitment in their use to keep me going.  That life of rush rush and rarely sleeping is over.

I’ve become more balanced and it is so good!  I thank God that so many blessing have been brought to me in recent months.  I am so grateful that I have this opportunity to get myself back on the right track.  I thank all of those who are helping me along the way.

Here’s to good health and happiness!

Friday=Work All Day :(

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

So, it’s Thursday night, and that’s sad for me.  Fridays are like Mondays for me.  I work two jobs, and I work both on Friday.  Luckily I put in a good workout today.

Did much the same leg routine as last week; I want to bring myself back to where I was last summer.  We’ll see how I hurt in the morning.  Worked out with a friend, which helped me to keep going.  Didnt leave until the gym closed, so I also got in some pullups, dips, cardio, and the needed stretching.  I need to continue to work on my pullups and pushups again.

My eating is clean, but I feel like I am eating too much.  I know I am working my body hard, need the energy, and need the nutrition to build.  I’m constantly monitoring and I actually having been weighing less overall, as I weigh myself before and after my workouts (monitoring water loss during exercise).

I’ll begin doing supersets soon again.  I also want to begin doing more cardio, as I need to work on my cardiovascular fitness.  Yesterday when I was running I kept my heart rate at 180.  I was almost painful.  Today I stayed around 160bpm, but my legs were already exhausted and wanted to take it easy.  Depending on how my legs feel after today’s workout, I may begin Saturday in running three miles daily in addition to my other regular cardio sessions.  I’ve read 2 miles daily for 18 days equals a pound.  I can do better than that and then I wont feel so guilty about my eating.

Any advice?  Feel free.

Thursday Again!

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

So, Its currently 1:04am Thursday.  Last night I went to the gym late and got in a quick workout and a run.  I really wanted some eye candy and to feel at home; my place of refuge does not supply me with much of the sort.  The gym is more my home than any other place, and I did find some eye candy!  I managed to eat really well during the day as well, but now I need to get some rest!

Looking to get some cardio in during the morning hours before work and then hit the weights for another leg day.  Wish me luck, and hopefully this time wont be as painful as the last!  Thanks for all the support,

Sara

Mid-January Update.

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

It’s nearly half way through the month, which means I need to add new weigh in and body fat percentage results.  I finally got three good workouts in last week and am hoping to get more done this week.  My first leg day was Saturday, and after at least 96 squats, numerous lunges, and extra leg curls, I have found it a challenge to walk up stairs, squat down to the toilet seat, get up out of a chair, etc.  You name it and it probably hurts to do it! :)   Oh well, this is EXACTLY what I signed up for.  I need to make gains; I figured I would be this sore.

My eating habits have been good, but I also find that I am eating A LOT.  I will have to see how this results, whether I gain or lose body fat with all of this eating.

I am having challenges with my closest friends in supporting me in my efforts.  It’s leading me away from them as I become more focused on what I want.  It’s an unfortunate necessity.  There are plenty of friends to have at the gym!

I hope you all are doing well and sticking to your goals.  two hours a day.  21 days creates a habit.

Best wishes!  -Sara

Happy New Year

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

It’s January and that means beginning new goals for the year.  So, my goal body fat for the end of the year is 13%.  Looks like a great challenge I know I am ready to take on.  The reward?  How about a trip to Hawaii.  Perhaps a photo shoot!  Aww hell, how about both!  I have it marked down, on the calendar, ready to go… Feb 1st 18.4%, March 17.8%, April 17.3%, May 16.7%, June 16.2%, July 15.6%, Aug 15.1, Sep 14.5%, Oct 14.0%, Nov 13.5%, Dec 13.0%.  I know that the later it becomes in the year the harder it will be to keep on track, but I think I’ll be able to blow the first few goals out of the water and come out ahead of schedule.

I am ready to keep from allowing anything in my path.  This is my year!
