Forget the scale
Sunday, June 15th, 2008ALL my life, my entire life I was reminded constantly from the world around me that the smaller you are, the less you weigh. Which I thought, when the number on the scale was small the smaller you are.
FORGET IT. Now from this day forward, I have thrown the scale over my shoulder. I have lost enough weight that now the scale does not budge any more. Due to my change of diet (thanks Devin) and change of exercie (thanks Melinda) my scale of doom doesn’t move from the fabulous 140, but the measurements are getting smaller.
That doesn’t mean I still won’t aim for less weight, but I won’t kill myself anymore, or get upset about what the scale says. I want muscle and definition and I MUST accept the fact that (we all know) muscle weighs more than fat. I even went through a breakdown on myself and friends, when I was very frusterated, confused about what was going on with my body. How can someone go through a strict diet, strict exercise, and see no results on the scale?
It took the day I was with Pauline and we were shopping for my dress for the wedding in California. I normally went for my regular sizes (I haven’t bought a dress nor clothes for a long time) so I pick up larges and size 11. To my surprise, NONE of them fit. ECSTATIC, I walked around in dresses size small and size 6. I’ve never thought I see the day I do that.
So every since that day I still step on the scale everyday, just in case. But now I measure myself more often, and more often I see the measurements go down. I’m more than happy to see my results. More importantly I’m very happy I’ve developed a lifestyle that makes me healthy and gorgeous at the same time.
