I finally nailed my pike sit!! I am so excited - I wasn’t expecting it at all. I was jumping up and down celebrating in the aerobics room. Now all I have to worry about is that one-arm push-up and straddle sit. I still have about 43 lbs. to lose in 15 wks. so I’m about to kick it into high gear with a 6 day/wk. superset split and daily skills training and morning cardio!! Whooo!!

hey everyone - this is my first update in a while. Goodness am I busy trying to be a fitness competitor - yoga classes, endurance classes (aerobics), daily skills training (sits, and one-arm push-up), and weight training. WHOA! It’s like I don’t have enough time in the day, but I’m loving it. I still have a lot of fat to lose, so I’m enjoying being super active right now - it only helps! My diet goal is 1880 cals/day but I usually hit a hundred low. I’m really bloated this week so I’m trying not to focus on the fact that it seems like I’m not losing any weight. I’ve ordered everything for the competition from the shoes to the make-up to the suits and the random supplies - now my sole focus is my body. Hopefully I can lean up enough!!

I haven’t posted in a long time because I’ve been so busy with training and school. My strength gains are almost mind blowing! I’m doing 50 push-ups with ease! I still haven’t nailed the one-handed push-up but I have plenty of time. Right now I’m just worried about putting on the muscle and getting a strong core. I need to start really hitting the flexability so when cutting and routine practice comes in April, I’ll be more than ready! I am slightly stressed about finding a fitness routine coach..

Training going great still. I’m a little frustrated with my progress doing push-ups, but I understand that functional strength moves take a little time to master. I have a year, so eventually I should be busting them out like crazy!! Intensive stretching starts October 1st along with a little cleaning up of my diet. My diet has been really clean so far, but Oct. 1st I’ll cut out alcohol. I have already stopped drinking diet colas and I no longer chew sugar free gum. Whoo!! It’s about to get intense!

Turns out I might not have to have surgery afterall!! Yay!! Training is in full swing and has been for a few weeks now. I’m amazing at how I’m progressing. I’m stronger from week to week. I started chest pressing 20lbs and I’m pressing 70lbs now! It’s crazy what a bulking diet and hard work will produce for you!

So I’m training hard everyday and staying motivated. I’ve put on some bodyfat which is to be expected in a bulking phase. I need to not get discouraged because I feel a little uncomfortable being this size. It’s really exciting to be lifting heavier than ever. I feel strong and on track!

Wow! My world just got turning upside down. I’ve had really horrible shin splints for the past three years and I finally went to a Podiatrist to get them checked out because I need to be able to use my legs full strength during my entire training. I found out I have to have two surgeries- one on each foot. At first I thought I would have to drop out training and wait until the next year to compete, but the procedure is an out patient surgery and I’ll only be out eight weeks. Eight weeks is valuable time that I can’t afford to lose, so I’ll be heading to the gym in crutches, so I can continue to do my regular weight training. The only thing I will drop is my morning cardio obviously. I’ll modify my diet slightly and I’ll push through one way or another!! The good news is that muscles will get plenty of rest for their development and since I’ll have so much time off of work I’ll be able to catch up on school and stay relaxed.

I just started my official diet and training today. It’s extremely exciting. For the last three days I’ve done my strenth and flexability building exercises so that I can execute my routine to the best of my ability next year. In three days I’ve come worlds! I couldn’t even get my feet off the groun three nights ago when I first try my straddle press. I still can’t do it well or for long, but I can get my feet up, so it’s a good start. I think I’ll be looking great within a year. I’m feeling really uncomfortable with my diet. I don’t like bulking up, but I know that it’s a phase that has to happen, but I have to make sure my bf% doesn’t get any higher than about 18% or I’ll have trouble cutting in four months.
