Wow, there's something about motivation that gets some of us.

I, too, am a Summa grad, and I did my 4.5-year degree (BFA - Graphic Design) in slightly over 3.5. Nice to get out early, isn't it?

Good luck at law school. I was a paralegal for almost 4 years (in the Army), and I enjoyed working with many of the attorneys I came into contact with. But, of course, there were also the ones that thought us paralegals were simply brainless gophers that couldn't do anything. Don't be the latter, and you'll make it just fine :)

Also, big respect for staying in shape while kicking your own ass in school. I let myself gain about 25 pounds while in school, but quickly shed the fat and added muscle when it was over. Of course, my wife was deployed and I had a 2-year-old to take care of, but no excuses, right? Congrats on everything...that's some tough sh*t you're putting yourself through.

N,
I know what you are going through. Have you had your body fat checked letely? I thought I had hit a plateau earlier in the month just by looking at the scale but I get my body fat chedked about every 2 weeks. Although I did not lose any body weight (scale wise) I am losing about a half of a percentage every two weeks of body fat. I also use the tape measure to watch my progress.

I figure if I am losing inches in my waist, dropping body fat but my weight is steady then I am adding muscle which is one of my goals and cutting my bodyfat is the other.

Hope that helps but don't get discouraged just by looking at the scale, that is only one measurment of success!

At the end of the day, it IS the rough days that make us better....Easy days are nice while they're happening, but they are rarely remembered for longer than that day. On the contrary, rough days, or uncomfortable situations force us to bring our 'A' game: undoubtedly, forcing a positive difference to be made.

Is your goal Figure competition? I visited your gallery and you're definitely attractive. Like Crossroads says, guys often think they're charming by making comments that might sound rude immediately. :( I think many of us are wired that way. The "Cave Man School of Impressing Women." ONK, ME WANT, etc.

Anyway, wishing you success as you work toward your goals. I think you've given yourself (and your readers) worthy advice:

"Don’t let anything or anyone convince you to give up; even the rough days have the potential to make us better."

Thank you for those words! :)

Fiirst thing, you look fantastic. As a guy I can honestly say that we don't always think about the things we say before we say them, so the guys at work commenting on your booty were probably attempting to be charming! I hope you reach your goals and fell confident about yourself.

Nike,
Congrats on law school, I work in Montgomery and know some lawyers who went there. Good rep plus I work out at Gold's in Montgomery.

I agree with the other poster, maybe you should check your bodyfat percentage instead of just your weight, maybe you are putting on muscle and losing fat.

Good luck and keep up the hard work.

Don't be discouraged that the scales not going down. Its possible your Body Fat is decreasing which means more muscles. Therefore you kind of balancing the equation.

And I can be your Valentine if you need one =p.

Congrats on Law School.

Nike,
I think what you are expriencing is stress related. Sounds like you have a TON of things going on with your life and none of them are easy.

From my 41 years of experience and from being in the military, I have seen some people deal with stress in different ways, some more effectively than others i.e. productive stress relief as opposed to destructive ways.

It sounds like that is why you enjoyed helping your friend out with her workout. The focus was on helping someone else out other than having to deal with the multitude of things you have going one.

I read a study one time about people who go to church and how they generally have better lives and live longer than those who do not.

I believe this has to do with froming relaionships not only with those around you but also with God.

Take it from an expereinced old dog, whenever my worries or troubles get too big, turning them over to a higher power and relieving myself of the burden has worked wonders.

We have all either been through the storm or will go through the storm at sometime in our lives. Although we may sometimes be limited on how we will weather that storm, if we choose to let HIM weather it with us, or for us, it will make all the differnce.

You sound like a nice, smart, God fearing, hard working lady that is also a good friend stay focused and never forget you are never going through it all alone as long as you choose to go through it with HIM!
