This was by far the most competitive show I’ve been in, and the highest caliber group of athletes I’ve ever seen on one stage. Jesse Grand won the two previous pro figure shows, and gave me a run for my money. She got 2nd this time, and was so gracious about it and demanded a friendly re-match at the NGA Natural Night of Champions in Houston at the end of the year. I think I’m going to take her up on that!

I also got to meet with former IFBB Pro Fitness competitor Beth Horn who is now an NGA Natural Figure Pro. Very sweet and friendly. We got to talk a lot backstage. What a sweetheart. Tracy Barlow is almost 41 years old and got 3rd. Just goes to show you that you can keep your body and your youth if you live a fit lifestyle. And you can only do that in the naturals. There were no hard faces here! Makecia Whitfield was a local favorite who got 5th. That hard body had curves of feminine muscle everywhere! And the crowd loved her! She was hilarious backstage and I’m glad I got to meet her.

The show was obnoxiously long. We left after midnight and they stil hadn’t awarded the men’s pro-card nor the men’s pro winners. But IHOP and my pillow were calling. Maybe next time there won’t be so many half-time shows and we can focus on the athletes that everyone came to see. It’s hard being backstage waiting for HOURS to go onstage and not being able to just pig out! Waiting sucks! But this year it was all worth it for me at least!!!

I’ve been looking forward to this show since the beginning of the year! I can’t wait to get back to the naturals. After coming out of the NPC I felt like i needed to take a shower! Ick! Which by the way, I STILL haven’t gotten any feedback from the judges. Shows how much they care right? Just continues to prove my point how political they are.

So three weeks out. Cardio, cardio, cardio, and I still have some heavy workouts left in me. So I am still good to go!
