I was kicking butt on a Flex program to get ripped by summer, but I’m not on the right track anymore.  The plan had me in the gym 6 days a week on a 3 day split, and doing 4 days HIIT, plus calories around 1650.  I don’t have time with my husband’s new job to be in the gym that much, and I quit tracking calories.  I need to get motivated and at least track the calories.  I’m also still going to the gym, but now it’s more like 4-5 days.  This week I have been sick with a sore throat, so I’m taking it easy.  I got a Wii Fit for my b-day, and have been using it for at least 30 minutes a day, plus my treadmill.  Tonight I might hit the weights too for hamstrings, and back.

Today I ran for 30 minutes.  I’ll probably get on the Wii Fit here soon and do Yoga, hula hoop, and some balance games.  I’m loving my Wii Fit, but I know I can’t use it in place of the gym.. too bad because I have a ton of fun on it.  The hula hoop is a nice cardio feature, plus I bet it can do wonders for my midsection.

I’m getting so bored with food!  I’m sick of chicken breast and steak all of the time, and need to get creative.  The hard thing for me is being creative and healthy with food.  I would it more fish, but the only way I like it is breaded, fried, and covered in tarter sauce ;(

Chicken wings and weight loss

Last night I went well over 2000 calories because we ate fried chicken wings smothered in hot sauce.  I have been trying to get to about 1650, and am supposed to be dropping from that.  Well my weight dropped from 121 to 119 from yesterday to today, and that is on over 2000 calories, and chicken wings.. what gives?  The only thing I can guess is that my body was happy to get over 2000 calories, and the chicken wings had nothing to do with it, lol.  That or my body likes the hell out of chicken wings, grease, and fat.. I wish it were the latter, but I’m thinking not:)

Anyone have any suggestions as to what caused such a drastic weight change????

Almost done with my week in training

I started month 2 this week of my training and diet program.  I haven’t stuck to it quite like I’m supposed to, but it’s kicking my butt anyhow.  My diet has been off, but I’ve kept up with the 3 day split, twice a week.  Training each body part twice is tougher than I thought it would be.  I’m sore, and frankly a bit exhausted.. lucky for me after I get through my back today I can relax tomorrow.

Here’s what my 3 day split looks like:

Mon/Thur ~ chest/shoulders/triceps

Tues/Fri ~ Legs/calves/abs

Wed/Sat ~ back/biceps/forearms

HIIT 4 days a week doing 4 min warm up, and 1 min run, 1 min slow 6-7 times, and 3 min cool down

Optimum Nutrition in Mint Chocolate…

Is delicious!  It arrived yesterday and I had to try it right away.. obviously.  It smelled so good, and tasted even better.  It reminded me of mint chocolate ice cream.  I can’t wait to make a smoothie with it, but I need a new blender first.  Mine has seen its last days unfortunately.

3rd week on Flex Program

I was supposed to start my 3rd week yesterday, but due to a garage door issue, I did not make it.  I managed to drag myself there today.  I say drag because I haven’t really felt up to par this week.  I’m in serious need of new contacts, and keep forgetting to order them, so my head hurts all of the time.  It gets worse with anything strenuous, playing video games, or typing/reading on the computer.  I also feel run down lately too.  I don’t need a break from training, and I eat enough, or nearly enough everyday.  I’m just exhausted, and hope that I’m just not sleeping enough.  Otherwise I would not know what is causing it.  I noticed a swollen lymph node a couple weeks ago, and since I’m in remission for Hodgkins lymphoma this kind of freaks me out.  I’m trying not to trip though because most likely it’s just from something else.

Wow, anyways today’s training is over, and now I can just rest and relax.   I need to eat more food too.  I think I’m at 900ish calories with my macros right about on.  I need to figure out what would be good for dinner.. steak, chicken, or fish.  I’d love to have either steak, or chicken with beans, rice, and avocado.

I started my 3rd week on the Flex today.  It changes quite a bit each month as far as calories and training are concerned.

Legs:

Squats 175#  8 reps.. woohoo.. it was rough, but I got through the set

Leg Press 340#  8 reps

Leg Extension 125# all 3 sets with no problem

Leg Curl  65#  2 sets

Reverse lunges on smith machine

Romanian deadlifts  95#  3 sets

Calves:

standing calf raise

seated calf  raise

Back, biceps, forearms

February 17, 2009

This is the second time on new program for these body parts.  I felt strong today, and I was mostly awake.  I have been getting headaches lately, and they seem to increase when I’m lifting hard.

I’m doing fine on my path to 1950 calories today.  I have over 1500, and that leaves me with plenty of time to reach my goals.

I have been tired all day.  I’m wishing that I could just go to bed right now, but my 4 year old has not fallen asleep yet.

My calories are way off tonight, and I’m not going to be able to fix it.   I haven’t been in the mood to eat today, so I have just had a few meals.

I had a hard time getting myself off the coach today, but I finally did.  Our dogs needed food, so I figured I may as well get to the gym while I was out.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hey, hope everyone is having a great day!  Mine is alright so far.  I’m probably going to have a yummy steak dinner tonight, and maybe a drink or two.

The crappiest part of my day was weighing myself this morning.  I am holding water from my high carb dinner last night, and my weight was up two pounds.  I know it’s not a big deal, but my belly is bloated from it, and I hate that.  I like having a really flat tummy.

I trained shoulders, traps, and abs today.. followed by 20 minutes of HIIT.  It was supposed to be my Friday workout, but I didn’t have the time.

2nd week on new program

February 12, 2009

Today was the start of my 2nd week on a new program.  It’s a 3 month program from Flex to help me get shredded.  I did legs today, and could not have asked for a better day.  I decided to increase my squat, and that went off without a hitch.  I think I could go higher even.

Weight today:  121.4 lbs

Workout (Legs)

Squats highest weight 155# for 6-8, lowest weight 135# for 6-8

Leg Press highest weight 300# for 6-8

Leg Extension highest weight 110# 6-8

Leg Curls highest 65# 6-8.. need improvement hear badly

Romanian Deadlifts highest weight 75# 6-8

Food

I’m getting about 1950 calories on workout days, and 1750 on my days off

Can’t remember the macros right now, but they are written down in my journal.  I know I’m always a little off from what they are supposed to be.  I never get nearly enough carbs.  I’m supposed to get 2 per pound of body weight and protein is 1.75 per pound of body weight.

Sick.. sick.. sick

I have felt really bad for about a week now, and it has been that long since I was in the gym.  I hate to miss so many days, but going to the gym feeling like this just doesn’t seem like a great idea.  I have been sticking to carb cycling anyways.  I keep hoping that I’ll feel better, but so far it just is not happening.  It started out as a sore throat the day of my son’s b-day party, and by the next day my whole head felt terrible.  I have a lingering cough, sore throat, and a general feeling of exhaustion.  Yesterday I couldn’t talk because my voice was gone, and today it’s still really horse.. arghhhh!

Well just thought I should do a blog update.. more like a blog bitchfest, lol.  Hopefully I can kick this thing soon, and get my energy back.  For now I’m waiting to breathe easily thru my nose.. til then I can’t imagine doing any form of cardio, or weights.  Okay done with the pity party.. peace.
