Idols!
Motivation is a topic that is often discussed in many Blogs here on BodySpace. The answers are many but almost anybody in here can relate in one way or another to each motivating factor.
One thing that is very important to me, is to have something visual in front of me - like magazines or bodybuilding vids. Here I find something very visual that reminds me WHY I like to train and what I’m striving for.
There are so many great bodybuilders out there, and I have huge respect for them all. No matter how much juice a guy had to inject into his butt, it took him blood, sweat and tears to reach the physique that got his name out there!
Now, in my last Blog I made some of the girls drewl all over their keyboards when I showed them a picture of Lee Priest. Lee is a pretty short guy, but man is he built! Huge arms, legs, shoulders and back. He is a true giant killer!

Some days ago, I also mentioned one of my other heroes, one which the BodyAuditor is very fond of too - the mighty (but short) Dexter Jackson. Now, it’s not that I have some weird fetish for short guys, but they do have the advantage that they’re able to develop huge mass on a small frame without getting a huge gut to go like so many of the much larger fellahs of the game.

Recently I got a new idol - a guy that hasn’t hit the Olympia stage but has an awesome body! He’s an Aussie and his name is David Rylah. Whenever I find myself thinking “Why do I even bather?” I only need to take a glance at one of his pics, and before you know it I’ve got the gym bag packed and ready to go!

It is very motivating to have people that inspire us. Alot of the women on here that have made SUCH INCREDIBLE transformations from dumpy or flabby to HOT AND FABULOUS are some of my biggest motivators. The second biggest for me is the mirror. I take one look at my flabby back-side, and HIT THE GYM>

Nic…you are so right!! It was seeing Monica Brandt and Trish Stratus that really helped me know that I can do this!! I always looked at the women in the Fashion magazines (I am a closet fashion designer and have been since I was 11 years old…lol) And seeing those girls at 5′9"+ and 110lbs ….well…there was just no way I was ever going to look like that! At 18, I had eating disorders trying to! THEN..and Oprah show about the runway models in Europe and how 1/3-1/2 are BOYS FREAKED ME OUT! I was like…WHY THE HELL AM I STARVING MYSELF TO LOOK LIKE A BOY!
Then came an incredible bodybuilding roll model! And with that pictures of the very healthy and sexy M.B….Later Trish Stratus and the other girls of the WWE (who I love!) and of course Oxygen magazine which I burst threw the doors to buy each month! And I’m healthy! Happy! Fit! And confident!!
Role models are very important!!
And WOW apparently i’m not short winded today eh! roflmao

you have a good point. I used to read the mags allof the time but they got so full of ads that I got tired of looking at them. Maybe I should try the video idea. Can’t hurt right?

I definitely agree - my first inspiration was Kiana Tom (whom I would watch before going to school in the mornings) and now there’s just so many inspiring people and reasons to keep going, both professional and your everyday badarses!!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to retire to my chambers and… study… these pics…
(seriously, all those mountains of muscles and veinage - HOTTNESS!!)

Very motivating indeed! My motivation also comes from the ladies of the very first Ms. O’s and their uber feminine looks.
