Body Space Jerks
I really enjoy Body Space and most of the people on this site. The support and motivation members give each other to help reach both fitness goals and life goals are just amazing.
It really sucks that a few members here think they are so above the rest. It is almost not worth posting a question in the forum section anymore. People are so ready to pick apart your posts/question and make you feel like you have NO business even asking such a question. I have seen this happen to so many members that it is getting ridiculous. I just thoughts I would share this experience with other members and get your thoughts.

I totally agree - lets face it if you’re working out in a gym you always get someone telling you that you are doing this or that wrong or that you should do this or that instead, without you asking for their advice. Bodybuilding is a sport where if one person gets results then they believe they have the answers to everything, but fact is that it takes so many different genetics to make so many different people that no one knows what the perfect anything is except trial and error. you have to learn to just put up with the kind of people they are and hope that experience brings them down a peg or two, you do your thing!

I have noticed that people often are really helpful if asked one on one in the ‘comments’ section of a bodyspace. They either ignore it or reply politely. The forum, though, seems to invite more ‘flames’ perhaps because of its seeming anonymity.

Yeah, I have only asked a few questions in the forum and either have gotten an answer or been totally ignored. No one has been a jerk yet, but I have read a few threads where that happened. Most people seem pretty helpful.

True - I avoid the forums. One on one I have found most people to be very friendly.

I feel the same way. I never check the forum, although I do keep a workout journal in it. That’s all I check is mine. I try to respond to everyone in a timely manner as well as being as helpful as possible. I find that a ono on one question with a member goes a lot further.

You hit the nail on the head, bro. Iusually stay clear of posting in the forums….some people there have "way to much time on their hands" to just tear you apart. Thanks for posting.

I think in the forums a lot of ppl hide behind that screen name and post count whereas here a lot of us have a face and stats to put a name to. I barely post in the forums..i try to stay in the space!

And unfortunately, I think this is a web wide problem. It seems that every forum I look at there’s always a few who can’t wait to try and cut others down regardless of the topic. Must be a lot of people with inferiority complexes who need to make themselves feel better by adopting a screen name and lashing out.
