My first week of weight training…

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Ok so I started weight training again for the first time since early 2007 and it felt so good! I can’t wait to start seeing this fat melt away like butter…My hubby made fun of my black gloves….They make me feel strong like i’m really doin work :) So I’m still doing cardio in the morning & I hit the gym on my lunch break to weight train. Mon-Legs&Abs/ Wed-Arms&Chest,Shoulders&Back/ Fri-Legs&Abs. I do need feed back though. Is this a good concept or is training legs & Abs twice a week too much?

My size 16 jeans dont fit!…And I love it!!!!

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Ok so after 5 weeks post pregnancy of course I couldn’t fit into my size 6 pants and 7/8 jeans. It was almost time to go back to work so I decided to buy a few pair of slacks and jeans to hold me over until I started dropping more weight/inches. Needless to say, shopping for jeans was HORRIBLE! I gathered every size from size 12-14 and could not fit into anything! I was bummed out! So I took a deep breath and headed back to the racks for a larger size. I was finally able to zip & button a size 16 jean. I have NEVER been a size 16 and it didn’t feel good. I bought 2 pair and went on my way.

Well its been 7 weeks since I purchased the monstrosity of denim fabric and they are falling off folks! YAY…I still can’t fit into my size 7/8 jeans, but I’m well on my way!

I’m Breaking up with the Treadmill!!

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Ok, so I just had a baby almost 3 months ago. After the first 8 weeks post pregnancy I had lost 26Lbs, but was still holding on to an additional 35. I did NOT like my new "frowning" body so I set out a goal to lose 45Lbs. That’s right an additional 10Lbs.

I know it seems like I’m really focused on the scale, but imagine gaining 60 pounds over a course of 9 months! I did what I do best…I started running! Well anyway, here we are 4.5 weeks into my cardio frenzy and I’ve managed to lose 13 pounds! WONDERFUL! But my body is still "squishy and frowning". It’s time to break up with the treadmill and fall in love with weight training! Well at least decrease my running days from 5-6 days a week to 3 and focus more on weight training.

I’m remembering how tight my body was when I was actively weight training a few years back and how all of my girlfriends called me "muscle booty" LOL. I loved it! My thighs were shapely and toned, there was definition that seperated my a** from my thighs…umm right now they seem to run together :) , my tummy was flat and tight (not a 6 pack or anything), I had definition in my shoulders, arms and back and I JUST FELT SEXY! I so want that body back…NO I want a better body!! Now that I’ve joined the BodySpace and see all of the wonderful transformations and the mothers who have banging bodies I know it can be done!

Just call me…Back Slider!

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Ok so I have not set foot in the gym since last Friday. I feel so guilty! I’ve lost 10 pounds now after 1.5 months of consistency with diet and excercise and I feel like its all going down the drain…Well I did have a good reason for not keeping it going. My 2 month old daughter caught her first cold. So in addition to the three full time jobs: Work, Hubby & Baby; My sleep was also reduced from 5hr nights to approx 2hr nights. Needless to say I’ve been walking around like a zombie ALL WEEK! So I vow to get back to it STRONG as soon as possible. No one said that it would be easy!

Taking it one day @ a time…

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Ok so I woke @ 4:40AM to feed my daughter. My first thought after putting her back to sleep was WORKING OUT! This thing is in me you guys! :) I was quite tired & it was still dark out so I drifted off to sleep. My alarm clock sounded @ 6am and I prepared for my morning run.

I started off with a 10oz protein shake & 2 Hydroxycut Max…I did a jog/run around my block. I set out a goal to finish 6 laps around the block, but only completed 4. I didn’t have breakfast afterward (i know that’s a no no) The Hubbs was supposed to whip up some egg whites and wheat toast for me, but we were running around busy all morning & that never happened. I have to GET IT TOGETHER.

Getting Started

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

I was released by the doctor & given the ok to start working out 3 weeks ago.

This is week 3 and I am currently doing 30-45 mins/cardio (in the morning prior to work) 5-6 days a week. I plan to start weight training as well next week 30 min on lunch breaks. I’ve been eating clean (for the most part) and getting acclimated with the new lifestyle…Its all working out so far with the schedule. My hubby takes the baby to daycare in the a.m. so that I can get my run on.

So i’m currently at 10 laps/30 mins…I’m trying to build endurance so i’m on a run/jog routine per lap. (5.5-6mph run) (4.5mph jog). Over the course of 3 weeks I’ve noticed an increase in endurance Woo Hoo! I’ve lost 2 pounds. (I think its just waterweight though). I started taking the Hydroxycut Max for women just yesterday. I’m hoping this will jump start the weight loss and give me energy throughout the day.  We’ll see how it goes!

Welcome!
