Why do you exercise so much? You’re not fat!…
Ughh… If I hear this one more time I’m going to burst! There are people out there who actually view a healthy lifestyle as a negative. Some see my dedication to achieve my highest level of fitness as an obsession or even an illness?! I am not annorexic nor do I think I am a huge blob. I truly believe that we must invest in ourselves first. I am my most valueable asset and if I am going to be the best wife, mother, etc that I can be I must be in the best shape of my life! When I feel good about me everything else sort of falls in line.
I will continue to invest in my health and well-being no matter what comments are made.
Does this happen to anyone else?!

Our entire nation does not realize how out of shape this country is, nevermind obese. Everyone needs to be re-educated on what a healthy body/lifestyle really means.

How do you reply to something like this? I believe that I have a long way to go before I consider myself in GREAT SHAPE. I have 15-20lbs of fat to lose, but some think that unless you are obese; you should just continue down an unhealthy path?

It’s a battle. My own wife (a wonderful women and healthy) sometimes discourages me because she thinks if you are in OK shape there is no need for all the effort.
Again, I think there are so many obese people that we are being compared to them and we look relatively good. But, the fact of the matter is that 99% of the country is out of shape.
Bottom line, ignore the noise and move forward to do the right thing and achieve your goals. Only you know what needs to be done - not anyone else.
