This past week I found out that my metabolism has pretty much stopped. I knew something was wrong because I should be shedding pounds rather than staying at the same weight. Now don’t get me wrong. Staying at a steady weight is good, well great for me but when you work so hard to shed some pounds and nothing happens, you kind of get ticked.
Finding this information out, I have changed how and what I have been eating. I work a desk job, so to keep my metabolism up, I have to use food and as much physical exercise as I can. I have started eating 5 to 6 small meals a day about 3 hours apart. The first benefit of this new habit is that I don’t feel as tired during the day.
- 8 - 8:30 = Breakfast
- 10:30 - 11 = EAS Whey Protein with Cup of Cho. Milk
- 1 - 1:30 = Lunch
- 3:30 - 4 = EAS Whey Protein with Cup of Cho. Milk
- 6 - 7:30 = Dinner
Today I started taking Universal Herbal Thermo Stack E/C/A. I took 1 pill before my morning walk of about 20 minutes on an empty stomach as prescribed. Took the second one about 15 minutes before lunch. Wasn’t sure if I should take it on an empty stomach the other two times a day, or just before breakfast.
I haven’t noticed any side effects but I have only taken two pills so far. Tomorrow I will repeat the 2 pills and then Wednesday, I’ll move up to 3. By Friday, I’ll be up to 4 pills with two being in the morning and 1 with lunch and dinner.
I am really looking forward to seeing if this helps me shed pounds. I was at 220 the first of the year, but due to surgery, I gained 20 pounds. I’m ready to get those 20 pounds off and drop another 20.
Do you think this is doable? Should I change the pill consumption and/or protein intake or leave the same.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Today marks day 37 of my body transformation. Every day during my lunch hour I go jogging or cycling. The only days I do not go is when I have appointments or errands to run during my lunch hour. I exercise during my lunch hour because it is the only time of the day that is truly mine. In the morning I wake up just in time to get dressed and off to work. In the evenings, I have regular family duties like taking out the trash, playing with my son, and helping get dinner on the table, then on to bath time and bed. Before I hit the bed, I relax a little by watching one or two shows I have DVR’d earlier in the day or week.
I usually take lunch anywhere between 12:30 and 2:00. Exercising during the day has provided more than just physical activity. It gives me a jump start for the rest of the afternoon. Before exercising during my lunch hour, I was finding myself sitting at my desk (yeah, an 8 hour desk job) about to fall asleep. The trail that I jog or cycle down is an old railroad bed that has been paved and it goes through a wooded area and then over a creek. I find myself getting lost in thought or noticing the wildlife and trees as I exercise. This really relaxes me and causes me to not focus on the activity I’m doing but rather what is around me.
I can usually jog 2 miles or cycle 6 to 7 miles during my lunch hour. This includes driving to and from the trail (usually 6 -10 minutes) and time exercising. I am glad I have found this time in my day to exercise. I feel it was the missing link to keeping me on track with my transformation. The only downside of exercising during my lunch hour is I have to come back to work sweaty. I don’t really mind it, but others may. I stay in my exercise clothes until I cool off, then go change into my normal work attire and spray a few squirts of deodorant, then I’m back to work.
Since June 19th, I haven’t really noticed any weight loss, but I think it is due to muscle gain. My clothes are fitting better and I can tell a difference in the mirror. My legs have really toned up and are looking rather nice. My midsection, chest, arms, and face/neck are also showing improvement. I keep getting discouraged when I get on the scale because there isn’t much change. When I look in the mirror, I feel better knowing that I am making a difference in my overall health and physical fitness.
I’ll post before shots after I have made some noticeable improvements.
