CoNfUsEd!?!

Now that I’m set in my routine and diet (diet - still working on that weekend boozing - ee gad!) I’ve decided to implement my suplements.  I wanted to make sure I could stay commited before spending all that moola.  I’ve used whey protien before and bought some more BUT something I’ve never used is Creatine.  I bought some and decided to look at the forum to get some more info on it.  I AM SCARED NOW!  I still have some fat on my booty and thighs that I’m trying to burn off with my cardio and on some of the threads it said that creatine could make you ‘look’ fatter because of the water retention….I def DO NOT want that.  So should I wait until I’ve burned off all my fat before taking creatine, should I even BE TAKING creatine as a female - so confused now :(   I just wanted to see my arms and tummy muscles really POP!  Ugh……so much to learn!

Creatine can (some say it should) be cycled, so while it will make you retain water, that effect will go away once you cycle off of it, and in theory, the body you have under that extra water will be better for having taken the creatine. Also, there’s no reason to avoid it just because you are female.

As far as the question of it being the right supplement for you to take, it just depends on your goals. If you don’t want to retain water right now, hold on to the creatine until fall, and start taking it then when the weather is cooler, and you will be wearing less revealing clothing.

Different people retain different amounts of water, so you could always try it, and see how it goes for you. If you feel like you are too bloated, quit taking it.

BTW, a typical creatine cycle is 1 month on, 1 month off. That might help you schedule this out.

Meh, I wouldn’t worry about water retention personally. If you think creatine will help you lift heavier weights, you should go for it. :)
