Forced break, but already back

I had some minor health issues that kept me out of working out. Plus a visiting friend to whom I wanted to dedicate my free time last week. That resulted in more than two weeks off, which translate in some 4 pounds lost and most probably some strength loss (I’ll know for sure after tomorrow’s workout), and not achieving my goal of 150 lbs on April 1st. I don’t regret it though. I had the best time with my friend (although I would have skipped the health issues if you ask me). In short, back to schedule now and getting mentally ready for stepping in the weigths room tomorrow.

Right where I should be, after all

OK, I was officially 147lbs last night. That puts me three pounds away from my goal for April 1st, plus it means I’m the heavier I have been in my whole life (and with no much BF% increase). Can’t explain how happy I am. I guess only skinny guys that have succeeded on this journey can understand what I feel when I look in the mirror and I don’t see skin and bones anymore. Sure, the numbers I’m managing are not impressive, but they mean so much to me that I don’t care how they compare to other people. I was getting concerned a couple of days ago, as I seemed to be gaining no weight. However, as today, I need to gain 1lb per week to achieve my goal, which is exactly the rate I have planned when I set my goals on Feb 21st. Today I will get my supplements, and a fat caliper. As I am not very concerned about my BF% today, I might take advantage of the sups. and gain up to 2 pounds per week, but I will make that decision after having a real measure of my BF%.

I am very anxious to doing my shoulders, chest, triceps workout tonight, and then maybe shooting a pumped pic to put in my profile.

Getting stronger but gaining no weight

Last week or so I haven’t been able to add even a pound to my bodyweight. I still am out of supplements, and getting all the calories and nutrients I need without them seem to be harder than I thought. However, I have been increasing the weights I lift, or increased the reps I do with a given weight (hence increasing my 1RM). I believe I have been dropping some BF% these days. I kind of see more of my abs than two weeks ago, when I decided to limit my gains to 1lb per week. So maybe I’m still adding muscle, and is just not reflected in my bodyweight. I will make an official weight-in tonight, and I have the feeling it will show an extra pound respect to the previous one (which will mean a record bodyweight for me!). If thus, I will be only 3 pounds away from my April 1st goal. I don’t want to get excited with much anticipation, but I can’t avoid thinking about which my new goal will be.

OK, enough digression already,  have to get some food.
