Monday-delts, Day 2 of 53, 11/10

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Today was a great day.  I finally got some much needed rest. Woke up 1.8 pounds lighter than yesterday so I’m moving in the right direction.  Now, I just have to stay consistent!  I had my chiropractor appt. which was very painful……maybe it wasn’t a good ideal to get a chiro who’s also a massage therapist…between adjustments and deep tissue massage I’m super sore!  I’m literally grinding my teeth during the sessions!! But I don’t even care, I just want some relieve w/ these thick/tight legs of mine!! I’m trying to see the big picture, this pain is just temporary!

I was able to run some errands….started shopping for a xmas tree! I didn’t realize how expensive they were!! Guess I need to stop being cheap and just buy one!  I’m usually at my parents for the Holidays but I need to get some Xmas spirit in my house! This will be my 2nd xmas in my new house so I need to start some traditions of my own.

Diet was 100% today….still low on water intake, but that’s the least of my worries.  I’m just happy to be eating healthy 2 days in a row w/ no cheats! And I actually feel better!!  I did have a little craving, so I had a small cup of coffee…that always takes care of my sweet tooth!  I would like to eventually get off the aritificial sweetners completely, but until then it’s better than a candy bar or ice cream!

Had a great work out this evening.

Sunday, 11/9

Today was just cardio!! I did fasted cardio for 45 minutes.  Incline walk on the treadmill.  Today is day 1 of 53.  I have set a goal to loose 18 pounds by January 1!!! I gotta do it….so here’s to training my ass off!

I’m off tomorrow so plan to get in cardio and weights!!

Diet was excellent…need to work my way back up to atleast 3/4 gallon of water a day!

Leg Day, Wed 11/5/08

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Eating like sh*t caught up w/ me today!  This is the 2nd time in the last 15 years of training where I literally felt a biological emergency coming on…..wasn’t sure what end it was going to come out of….but, I wasn’t feeling good!!  Long story short…worked day shift 8-5…ate grilled chix biscuit w/ hash brown for breakfast then around 11am ate some Sun chips.  We got really busy at work so I didn’t eat lunch until about 3pm.   Ate a meatball sub from subway and 3 cookies….I know, [B]TER-RI-BLE!!![/B].  Got home and felt bloated as hell….took a nap, woke up still feeling bloated so decided not to eat a PWO meal….made it to the gym around 7:15pm. 

So here I am….going to kill my legs on a crappy diet and dayum near dehydrated!!! Half way through the workout I started feeling funny..it got progressively worse so decided to end the workout and head home.  Stopped off to the gas station and got some crackers and a ginger ale and I felt better instantly.  I guess I just needed something on my stomach.  Lesson learned….if I’m going to eat crappy, I don’t need to do it on leg day.  Overall, I still had a good workout until I fizzled out on the last exercise.

Single Leg- Leg Press 4×10

Reverse Hack Squats 4 x12

Walking Lunges 3×20

Leg Extension 2×12 (superset)
Leg Curl 2×12

20 minutes of stretching!!!

Came home, showered, and put some biofreeze on the hammies so hopefully I won’t be so sore the next few days.

Back, Monday 11/3

I was dragging this morning but made it to the gym at a decent hour.  Had a great workout….rushed home ate and went to my chiropractor apt…..this will be an experience.   She did some adjusting as well as massaging.  Great to have a chiropractor and Licensed Massage therapist all in one.  My hams and traps were so tight I had tears in my eye.  Not tears b/c it felt so good, but pure pain!!! She worked on my tricep area also, says there’s alot of scar tissue.  My insurance will pay for 20 visits a year so hopefully by the time my next prep comes around I’ll be good to go!

Bi’s & Tri’s, Sunday, 11/2

Wow, well it’s been an entire week since I hit the gym!!  Went two weeks of lifting heavy consistantly and totally bombed last week.  Don’t feel guilty not one bit…w/ the economic times if work is there I’m going to take it!! I can say that I cleaned up the diet tremendously last week so I am very happy about that. 

I was suppose to hit the gym yesterday but just wanted to be lazy!  I made it in today so here goes the workout.  Have a schedule change and 2 days this week I’ll be working days at the full-time job so won’t have to work nights. I’ll be able to train the entire body this week for sure.

DB Curl 2×20, 2×12

DB Overhead Press 4×20

1 Arm Cable Curl 4×12

1 Arm Cable Kickback 4×10

BB Curl 4×12

Lying Leg Raises 4×25

My right arm is about to fall off!!!  Wrist and elbow are both hurting now….wrist started on yesterday….between work and my leisure time on the computer is taking a toll on my wrist.   Elbow and tricep always hurt w/ bi’s and tri’s.  After 3 sets of tri’s the infamous pin stick sensation was there…that’s got to be a nerve or tendon being pinched.  Elbow area is just a dull ache w/ the bicep curl.  My chiro was sick last week so didn’t have the appointment, so will go in tomorrow at 12:30.  She’s familiar w/ ART so I hope she’ll be able to get things in order w/o having to see an orthopedic doc.   If not, there’s a practice that concentrates on sport/training related injuries so I’ll make an appt. there.

All is well in the neighborhood!!  Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!!
