Back & Tri’s, Day 18 of 53, 11/26

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Was struggling w/ the weights…just didn’t feel like lifting, but got it done so that’s all that matter.  I hit the treadmill for cardio and I must say that made me feel a lot better.  I was really in the groove then the cleaning man came and started spraying down the machines…I have a head cold so that messed up my breathing a little, but other than that it was a good cardio workout.

Lat Pulldown 2×20, 3×15
1 Arm Hi-Row (Hammer) 3×15
Straight Arm Pulldown 3×15
Standing Cable Row - Close Grip 3×15

DB Overhead Press 3×15
Cable Kickback 3×15

40 min- Walk/Run Intervals on treadmill

Chest & Bi’s, Day 17 of 53, 11/25

I feel like I’m at a point where having too much information is starting to affect my confidence.  Although I was very satisfied w/ the results of nationals…..now, I’m just wondering about my own physique and if it’s what the judges really want!! I also thought about not doing any Nat’l shows and just doing my state show and the final show in NC which is always huge.  I hate this feeling.  Anywho, I made it to the gym and had a decent workout.  Diet was good today…only sugar I had was from my creamer for my sugar and in the PB I had on 2 rice cakes….otherwise the diet was good.

Bench Press 4×30
Chest Flyes on Pec Machine 4×15
Seated Cable Press 4×15

DB Curl 4×15
BB Curl 4×15

Delts, Day 16 of 53, 11/24

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Today’s workout was short and sweet!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Nats…but it also has me second guessing myself. Where does my physique fit in and blah, blah, blah!! Anywho, I did a light work today….and quite honestly think my workouts will be light from here on out!!  I’ve decreased the weight and reps.  Let’s see where this gets me!!!

DB Side Lat Raise 3×12 (Triset)
DB Front Lat Raise 3×12
DB Military Press 3×12

Rear Delt on Pec Machine 3×12

Stepmill, 30 min.  OMG!!! Talk about out of shape!  I thought I was gonna die…it took all my strength to stay on that dayum  machine 30 minutes…amazing how fast cardiovascular endurance can decrease.  I can’t believe I use to 60min. and some 2 sessions a day on that machine!

Feel like I’m getting my groove back…..just hope after this weekend I can get right back into!!  Just noticed, 2 months from today I’ll be 35!!! Wow, mid thirties, boy does time fly by fast!!!

Gosh, I can not believe how excited I am to be going to Nationals!!!  Totally different type of excitement than competing, which I don’t miss!!  Just excited to see everyone on stage and looking forward to being inspired/motivated to get it together on my end!!

Made it to the gym bright and early!! Was off today, but glad I went this AM..b/c I wanted to go back this evening but didn’t feel like it.  Had a decent workout!

1 Arm Tricep Kickback 4×10

Dips 2×15 (tricep held up until this move so stopped at 2 sets!)

Today was a good day…glad I made myself hit the gym first thing this morning!!  Will be playing catch up this week since I missed Sunday & Monday.

My workout was good! Didn’t feel up to cardio! But that’s ok, 4 -45 min. sessions this week so that’s good enough.  Plan to do cardio today.

Day 5 of 53, 11/13/08

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Today was a much needed day of rest.  I breifly had the urge to go to the gym but I decided not to. The diet was good…experienced some cravings but made it through w/ no cheats.  Things are going well, have dropped 3.2 pounds….still have several to go!

Plan to hit the gym tomorrow afternoon!

Legs, Day 4 of 53, 11/12/08

I had to drag myself into the gym!! But, I made it so that is all that matters!!!  I’m exhausted!! I’ve hit the gym 4 days straight, so tomorrow will be my off day!!

Stiff Legs 1×20, 3×15

Walking Lunges 4×20

Reverse Hack squats 4×15 (superset)
Step-ups 4×15

25 min - Incline walk

20 min - stretching/foam rolling

Biceps/Triceps, Day 3 of 53, 11/11/08

Day 3 and I seem to be getting my groove back……finally, it couldn’t have happened at a better time!!!!!  2.8 pounds down since Sunday!!

Due to Veteran’s Day I’m working a 24hr. shift on pager.  Luckily, no major calls so I’ve been able to get to the gym 2x today as well as do a little shopping!!!  Diet was great….still not up to 6 meals but 4 clean meals and 2 grapefruits.  I ate the grapefruits after I trained.

If you’ve been keeping up w/ my journal I’ve been talking about my triceps for some time.  I’ve gone to the chirpractor 2x and I’m happy to report that it must be working!! Today was the first time in a long time….seriously, I can’t remember the last time….but today I was able to hit triceps w/o the pin sticking sensation that I’ve been experiencing for several months!  My tricep is still super tight, but no pain so I was able to get through my workout w/ no problems!!!  So, I’m giong in the right direction!!!  I did plenty of stretching so I’m optimistic that I’ll get my tricep under control!!

Today’s workout:

6:15AM, 45 min Incline Walk on Treadmill - fasted

5:30PM, 15 min Incline walk on Treadmill - warm-up

DB Hammer Curl 2×20, 2×12

1 Arm Cable Curl, 4×12

BB Curl -close grip, 4×15

1 Arm Cable Kickback, 4×12

Cable Pressdown w/ Rope, 4×15

Lying Leg Raises 4×30
