Well, I’ve enjoyed slacking off on the workouts!! I did not workout on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday after starting back so strong on Mon-Wed!! I take that back- If you want to count 2 hrs. of yard work on an empty stomach as cardio….then I did cardio Friday morning. I managed to get up this AM for my early morning cardio! Oh how I luv doing cardio outside. The time flew by b/c I finally purchased the IPOD. I decided to get the 80GB Classic. Love it! Haven’t figured out all the features but it served it’s purpose.
As for the diet, did great for a few days….then kind of fell apart again on Friday…I gave all that crap away and had the nerve to leave a jar of peanut butter in the cabinet…WTF? Why oh why did I do that! Needless to say…it’s gone now…so are all my salt free rice cakes! I won’t be purchasing anymore PB. Tthat is the only way I can trust that I won’t start dipping in it!
I was off this weekend. I got plenty of rest and even got some motivation by going to a local bb show. No figure, only 1 fbb, it was an AAU show…only residents of that county were allowed to compete. I luv to see the teen divison. They have great sportsmanship. They are soooo hungry to improve in the sport and no cocky attitudes. There was a 12 year old who was so impressive. Of course his physique wasn’t where it needed to be (going up against 15-19yo), but he was posing like a PRO. I couldn’t believe how well he transitioned from one pose to the next!! I luv to see kids try…and he tried so hard. I’m sure he knew he had no chance of winning! This little boy was definitely a baby…still had plenty of baby fatl!! With the baby fat and all, he obviously did his homework and got some help w/ posing!! If you could have seen him on stage! Everyone stood up and was clapping and cheering him on!! He didn’t make Top 3…but they called the remaining competitors on the stage just to congratulate them all. Then they surprised him w/ a trophy for being the youngest competitor!! You should have seen his face…he had to be the happiest kid I’ve ever seen. Guess what this little boy did…He took that trophy, put it on the stage, and did a most muscular pose to a double bicep and was just working the crowd! The crowd went absolutely bananas!!! He was such an inspiration…I had tears in my eyes!! I absolutely love to see kids try and try hard!!
OK, back 2 me!! Haha!! Here is where the mental part of the game kicks in. I firmly believe that the body will do anything you tell it to do; Within reason if there are no injuries. Now the mind is something different. If you are mentally unprepared and have no focus and/or confidence IMHO you might as well throw in the towel and just give up! Take some time to re-group and start over! Sowry, that’s just my way of thinking! Needless to say I gotta get it together (i.e. re-group!) and get it together quickly…like tomorrow!
Here I am….5 months out from Nationals, so no pressure?? Yeah right! Mentally, I need to stop slacking, b/c I know my body is up for the challenge!! I gotta get my azzz back in the gym ASAP, and back consistantly, not 2 days here, 2 days there…every day!! I have 2 get on the diet…and stay on the diet w/ my 1 cheat meal a week, not cheat day, but meal..PERIOD!! I’m not foolish and I know there are competitors out there who haven’t skipped a beat! I can honestly say the last 2 weeks have been the longest vacation I’ve had since I started training for my 1st figure show July 2007. I’ve recooped(sp) enuff and it’s time to get back to business!
Anywho, that little boy was really inspiring. He’s been on my mind a lot today. I did a lot of thinking and visualizing of the physique I want to bring to the stage in 5 months. I’m going off in lala land so it’s time to shut up!! I’m sure you all get the picture of where my head is right now.
Okie dokie, tomorrow starts a new week of training!! Train hard because that’s what I plan to do!!
