IN 21 DAYS!!!!

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

I’ll be on stage for the second time  in 6 months!! This week was very productive.  Although I didn’t drop any pounds on the scale I am more vascular, my abs and quads are tightening up well, and my poor little hips are just completely gone!!  My hips are 33 3/4 in. My thunder quads are now down to 19 in..  off season they’re about 21 1/2 in. Abs are sitting at 26in.  They look tighter, but I’m still holding water. My goal is to get them down to 23 3/4 in..  My last competition my abs were at 24 in. so I think that is a realistic goal.

This week consist of a few changes to the diet.  I’ll pretty much maintain this until I carb up the evening before pre-judging.

I’ll be posting pics Sunday night..Check back then to see my progress!!!

26 Days!!!!

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Wow!! Time is flying by now.  I’m 26 days out from my 1st National show! This past week went very well.  My training, cardio, and diet were all consistant, but I had a cheat on last Sunday that put 2 pounds of water on me.  Although, my progress pics posted show me a lot tighter, I spent all of last week working off the 2 pounds.

For the remainder of the prep there can’t be any more cheats!! My goal for this week is to drop 3-4 pounds!! Stay tuned for an update and progress pics on April 27, 2008.

5 Weeks Out!!!

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

Hello All!!

I’m feeling much better today!  I weighed in at 127 this morning….so that’s 2 pounds from last Saturday…actually 3.5 pounds b/c I was fluctuation between 129-130.5 all of Week 7. I just happend to be 129 Saturday, by Sunday I was back up to 130.5.  I was very frustrated last week so I did two small changes to my diet which seemed to help.   I decided to cut out the protein powder and substitute those 2 meals w/ fish and veggies and decided that I had to drink a minimum of 1 gallon of water a day, not 3/4 a gallon, but a gallon.  (this is something that I should have been doing my entire prep).  I know the additional liter of water definitely assisted me in dropping some water weight and my abs do appear tighter!! I’m so glad that  it worked.  Mentally, I decided that weighing myself daily was just making me a nervous wreck.  It wouuld just make me so upset to do cardio 3x a day and the next day be the exact same weight.

Here I am at 5 weeks out!  Time is flying by now.  For this week, I’ll continue to follow my diet, shoot for  1- 1 1/2 gallon of water per day, cardio daily 2-3x a day for a minimum of an hour/weight training, and just keeping my stress level as low as possible.  Last week I decided I needed to make some changes about how I was handling some personal issues and the change has greatly helped me emotionally.  I feel better, finally!  So, I think stress definitely plays into how my physique reacts as well.

Anywho, I’ll be posting progress pics tomorrow!! Stay tuned and have a great weekend!!

Pics Posted, 6 weeks out!

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

I posted my 6 week pics under Jr. USA Progress pics.  I’m not happy at all and growing more frustrated by the day.  Anywho, lets see what week 6 brings.  I just have to keep telling myself to stay positive and focused!!!

6 weeks today!!!!

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Well, today is the 6 week point for Jr. USA.  At the beginning of the week I was feeling good.  My workouts were going well and I was doing my cardio 2-3x a day for 1hr.  I believe it was Monday that I finally hit 129…I had been going back/forth 130-131 the last 7-10 days…so I was really happy about that.  By Friday I started feeling frustrated, frustrated, and frustrated some more b/c I had cardio 3x a day on Wednesay and Thursday.  On Friday morning the scale was still sitting at 129.  I was even more upset b/c I’ve been following the diet and haven’t had any cheats.

Friday I did my routine, AM and mid afternoon cardio.  By that evening, it was like I was a different person. I’m assuming just the exhaustion of training, the frustration, and a few other personal issues just had me at an all time low by Friday evening.  I had all intentions of going back for my 3rd cardio session around 10PM, but then a freakin thunderstorm hit w/ tornado warnings so I decided to stay home.  Anyway, I spoke to my trainer very briefly on IM and he’s instructed me to delete my oatmeal…which was only a 1/4 cup in the AM and the only starchy carb that I had in my diet to begin with.  So anywho, looks like straight protein and green beans for the next 6 weeks.

My friend is coming over tomorrow morning to take progress pics.  So I should have them up some time Sunday.  Take care!!!
