Akeelah and the Bee

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Ok,  this movie has been out for 2 years and I’m just now finally getting around to looking at it.  This has got to be one of the best movies I’ve seen.  Talk about perserverence and determination…..this movie gives you one of those AH HA moments….similar to what the movie Pursuit of Happyness gave me.  Basically, it just reminds me that I can, you can, we can all do whatever we put our minds to.  Don’t ever let anyone rain on your parade, don’t ever let anyone shatter your dreams, don’t let anyone make you think your ideals are dumb!! ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TOO!!!!  Of course, w/in reason….I’ll never be an astranaut..b/c math isn’t my  thing…but you all know what I mean, lol!!

Well, off to the gym for my 2nd session of cardio and some ab work!!  Train hard, train to win!!! Peace outtttttttttttttttttttt!!!!

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Hello All,

Well, I’ve posted another set of start pics for the 7 week point.  The reason being is b/c although I posted pics at 14 weeks the plan was to start dieting at 12.  Long story short, I went to the Arnold and ate like a fool and have spent the last 4weeks loosing the 9 pounds I gained.

Sooooo anywho, here I am at 7 weeks!! 130 pounds.  No more games now…..this is all business, b/c you best believe all the other competitors will have their game face on!!!

54 Days Left

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

And it’s  showtime at the JR. USAs!! I really don’t have anything major to report from the prvious week.  I will say that I didn’t get my cardio in the way I would have liked to.  I did cardio every day last week, but didn’t get my 3 sessions in a day, some days I only got 1 session in.  Just seems like this past week at work there was alot of drama, so I wasn’t able to get back in for the evening session like I planned on doing.

For this week I’ll be incorporating the step mill into my routine.  I’ve been saying that the last two-three weeks, but haven’t touched the machine.  I got on it for the 2nd time since November this past Saturday…did 60 minutes and it acutally felt pretty good.

I keep lieing to you all! I think I said I’d post pics this week, well didn’t take any!! Extra busy at work this weekend, plus I think I look the same!  I promise to post pics next weekend!!

9 Weeks Out From Jr. USAs!!!!

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

My goodness, time is really flying by fast now.  I’m proud to say that since my return from the Arnold Sports Festival I’ve finally gotten on track and stayed there.  The Arnold was a great experience and I came back home hyped and motivated to get on the diet and stay on it.  Since my return, I’ve lost a total of 9 pounds…which I actually lost in the first 7 days…that lets you know just how much water I was holding.  I’ll contribute that to 3 days of eating pancakes for breakfast and I won’t even disclose everything else I ate while in OH.

This morning I weighed in at 132 pounds.  I have about 20-22 pounds to drop to be competition ready.  My goal for this week is to drop 2-3 pounds.

My legs/glutes, delts, arms, back are starting to lean out.  I’m actually starting to see a small vein on my inner thigh that I never seen in my life, so I thought that was interesting!  My problem area….abs, will be the last to show…but to my surprise I can see a ‘lil something going on…but not much.

For the upcoming week I’ll continue to hit the iron hard and keep up w/ the cardio.  Last week I managed to get 3 cardio sessions in on 3 days and the other days were 2 cardio sessions.  I hope to get up to 3 cardio sessions atleat 5 days this week.  Doing this much cardio is very strenuous and it does take a lot…..to me so much harder than the weights.

Anywho, think I’ll hold of on the pics until next week.  See ya next week!
