DISTRACTIONS & MENTAL FOCUS!!!

Hey peeps!! I’ve come to the relization that my internet addiction has now become a distraction and is greatly affecting my mental focus!  I’ve been feeling great physically but the last 2-3 weeks my mind has been playing all types of tricks on me.  I’m no where near as confident as I use to be and my motivation to stay on the diet is decreasing daily.  My trainer feels like I’ve psyched myself out by reading/posting in the forums, the progress pics, the suggestions, etc., etc.,etc.

I personally believe the sport of bodybuilding/figure/fitness or  any sport for that matter, your mental focus has to be in order.  If you are not mentally strong it’s easy to do the things that will prohibit growth and improvement….for  me, it’s cheating on the diet!!  I’ve always said the gym and lifting weights has always been the easy part.  The diet for me is the battle of all battles.  I have a great work schedule and all the free time I have on my hands has allowed me the convenience to burry myself into the world of bodybuilding and figure.  I have now become so pre-occupied w/ comparing myself to other physiques I have now lost all focus and a lot of confidence. (DAMN…DIDN’T I JUST TELL YOU THAT, LOL…) I have recognized along w/ my trainer’s Tuff love, that in order to re-gain some focus I’m going to have to get off myspace, stop visiting all the forums, and stop looking at all of the competitors physiques and comparing them to mine. 

Anywho, I’m rambling now.  I’m about to go into Internet Rehab sort of speak…cold turkey, lol.  Those of you close to me have my email addy and I will continue to check that.  However, I’m going to try to only check my Myspace, BB.com, FigureRX, MD spots once a week!! Whewwwww, can I do it! Yes, I can.  I know I can do anything I put my mind to.  So, with that being said, I’ll check the spot one more time today…then after that, I won’t be back on until Sunday.  So, I won’t reply back within seconds like I use too, but I will get back to ya!!! Thanks for all the support…but it’s time to get back on track!!  

And on last thing….I’ll be at the ARNOLD in 48 hours!! Sooo excited. I’m hoping this experience will give me the motivation and push I need to train hard for the JR. USAs…This Saturday I’ll be 11 weeks out!! I’ll see you all on Sunday..I luv taking pics…so I’ll be posting hundreds of pics of my experience at the arnold!!! Take care!!

12 Weeks!!

Don’t have much to say today.  Here I am.  12 weeks out.  Physically, I’m ready…mentally, I’ve been struggling.  There’s no turning back if I want to be competitive.  So, with that being said..I have to keep pressing forward!

This week I hit the gym every day, did cardio daily…I said this week I’d start 3x a day.  But what was I thinking?  I’ll be out of town half the week so I doubt I get it in.  So, I guess I’ll save that for week 11!!

The Arnold is this week!!! Sooo excited, yet anxious b/c it will be very difficult to stay on the diet while out of town.  I have a plan to get my cardio in…hope it works! Anywho, if nothing else, after seeing all the fantastic bodies I know I’ll be motivated to stay focused on my goals.

I had to literally drag myself to the gym for my late nite cardio session!! I swear the only thing that got me there was knowing somewhere there is a competitor  that did her AM & PM session of cardio, did her weights, dranked all her water, and ate all 6 meals!! I’m tired, but now I have to settle down b4 I can go to sleep.  It’s 12:14AM and my alarm clock will be ring in 5 hrs. 15 min! Tomorrow night I have got to get to the gym by 9! 

Although I’m not looking forward to it I’ll be doing 3 sessions of cardio next week!  The things a figure gurl will do to look great on stage!! 

13 Weeks!!!

13 weeks out from Jr. USA!!  Nothing major to report for the past week.  I decided to start my diet…but failed miserably…don’t know if it’s b/c my trainer wants me to start at 12 weeks anyway or what.  Needless to say, I cut my carbs substantially and by the 4th day I had a nagging headache.  I don’t recall this reaction the last time I went on the diet…maybe b/c my body fat was a lot higher!! As far as the training….well going to the gym to lift the iron has always been relatively easy, unless I was upset/depressed.  Of course my issue will always be the diet and cardio.  But, I’m happy to report that I did cardio 5 days this week, so I’m happy that I was able to get back on track w/ that.

No need to post pics today, as I’m bloated as hell!  I did manage to loose 2 pounds….I’m sitting at 131.

In other news!!! I’m going to the Arnold Sports Festival!!  Initially I was going to back out,  1 - I don’t diet well when travelling, 2 - my money is a little funny and I could definitely spend it more appropriately.  However, after being nicely encouraged by a myspace friend as to why I needed to go and God listening, a way was made to make my trip a little easier on my pocket!!  Out of the blue, while chatting w/ an online friend, the rooms came up, and to my surprise she needed a room mate for two days…then a few days later another close online friend asked about rooming!  So that cuts the cost of the room in half….so the trip is very dooable now!!!! I can’t wait.  I have never been to Ohio this will be a great experience.  If you plan to attend the Arnold plz send me a message so we can meet up at the Expo…I would like to meet as many online friends as possible.

Goals for the upcoming week:  STAY ON THE DIET AND INCREASE CARDIO TO 7 DAYS/WK!!!!

Rarely do I look at my actual myspace profile.  Today I decided to take a look at it b/c I was told it was loading slowly and freezing up some ppl’s PC.  Long story short, to my surprise the bible verse posted for today is in refernce to character.  I thought that was a coincidence or as my mom says, “The Lord Working”. Never the less it just made me think b/c I just posted a blog yesterday about character, etc.  Hhhhmm, I guess I’m on the right path.

When I first read this I was like damn, damn, damn…!! How enlightening, that makes so much sense.  I went back a few years and thought about the above saying. There were times where my actions became detrimental to my well being and there were times when my actions caused great success and or peace in my life.  I’m a firm believe that half the battle is maintianing my mental health …Mental health?  No, I’m not crazy…all though we all have a little bit of craziness in us!! What I mean by mental health is sanity and peace of mind.  I truly feel like you won’t get to far in life with out sanity in peace. Now, I’m the 1st to say we all go through hard times, but we have to get up, realize what we need to do to better ourselves, and do it.  I believe misery luvs company so I try to keep miserable ppl who try to bring me down out of my life.  I have to love those people from a distance.  

So with that being said, I decided to flip the quote to fit what I believe is most important in remaining sane, at peace, and happy!

Have Positive Thoughts, so you only speak positive words.

With positive words, your actions also reflect your positive outlook on life.

Positive actions provoke positive/healthy habits.

14 weeks!!!

Whew, time is really going by now.  I took some start pics yesterday which have been posted.  Last weeks training went well.  I was up everyday for my 6am training session.  Cardio has still been a thorn in my side.  Only managed to get in 3 cardio sessions.  After looking at my pics I know I have to get my cardio done daily, there’s no other way. 

For the upcoming week I’ll continue to train consistantly.  I have to cut off the computer by 10PM so I can be sleep at a decent hour.  There’s just no other way for me to do it.  Anywho, I’ll see you all next week.  Comment back and let me know what you think of the pics.  My goal for this show is 110…23 pounds to drop!

Over the last few months I’ve started writing down quotes that inspired me or made me think about my life and where I am presently.  Just woke up this morning feeling pretty good and thought about a few quotes I’ve written down.

15 Weeks!!

Nothing major to report for the past week.  I  made it to the gym every day for my 6AM training session.  Couldn’t bring myself to get in at 4:30AM to get cardio done….so that will be my goal for next week.  I also plan to do a few spin classes as well!  My goal is to be back into the training mode 100% by week 14…which means training AND doing cardio daily!! I have no choice on this if I want to get a call out when I get back on stage!  I HATE CARDIO!!!
