It’s not a night club hommie

I don’t want to sound like I am ant-social but I was working hard in the gym tonight I noticed a awful lot of dudes hanging out in jeans and dress shirt with walletes and cell phones in their hands instead of iron. When one of them would get bored he would pick-up a 20lb dumbell squeeze out the big 10 reps and then check his cell. If this was a bodybuilder looking to tighten his already 20" biceps i could understand but this guy had the overall musculature of Pee-Wee Herman. Maybe I am just bitter because the goals I have set for myself are going to require a lot more effort in the gym than that. Maybe, like I saib at the top, I am just being ant -social. After all they are just trying to hang.

Holla at me and tell me if I am out of line to be upset or if any of you guys have a similar problem or experiance.

You are absolutely spot-on with your anti-social behavior. We completely agree with you - a gym is a place to work! This is one of the many reasons we’ve spent a ton of money to create our own home gym so we wouldn’t be distracted by the people doing things other than working out in a public gym.

Your blog gives a couple of reasons why I work out @ home on 3 weights & don’t use machines for cardio.

Firstly fools like you say, all talk all play,
& secondly your attitude to the way other people are built. Not every one is blessed with a broad build dude, not everyones there to build either.

    No offence intended

It’s one of the perils of working out in a public gym. For a while I worked out a gym that was geared towards the masses more then the bodybuilder, and often I would walk in to find the place crammed with people talking, hanging out. Five people around the same piece of equipment, all talking to the guy sitting on the equipment. Not "using" it, just sitting on it. Street clothes were rampant, as were Cell phones. It’s just something that we have to get past if we work out at chain gyms like that. -Dave

Thanks for the comment, it really made me feel better today! I’ll get back on the proverbial horse and kick ass again soon, I just have the bruised ego and hurt pride. I am disappointed!
    Keep up your hard work!!!
