Falling down again

April 27, 2009

I am keeping up really well with my workouts….haven’t missed a single one since October and I am really happy about that, but my diet seems to not be as tight as it could. I constantly feel myself buying Ben and Jerrys ice cream when something stressful happens at home. How do people manage with this? I feel like I am consantly defeating myself and know that if I can just ignore those urges I can reach my goals but I seem to get short sighted quite often and just forget what I am working towards.

I’m really trying hard to mentally prepare myself for cutting so that I don’t back down. I don’t feel like I have the motivation I did on my last cutting phase so I’m hoping that something will inspire me over the next few days. I’m working harder at the gym and lifting heavier and making my rest intervals shorter. I can feel myself getting stronger and it feels great now I just need to really tighten up the diet.

Prepping For Cutting

December 27, 2008

I’m starting my cutting diet January 1st for a total 20 weeks. I’m just in the process of revising my plan. I’m hoping to bring the diet down to 1600 calories for the first 2.5 months. And then bring it down to 1500 for the next 2 months and then the last half of the 5th month down to 1400. For the first 2 months I’ll keep to about a 40/35/25 (P/C/F) and stick with whole grains. During the last half of the cutting I’ll take out most of the grains and rely on green vegetables for the great majority of carbs and lots of protein while introducing carb cycling.

I’m really excited and can’t wait to start seeing how my body will respond. I’m planning on keeping my regular supps: glutamine, whey, fish oil and my multivitamins in check and will continue to change up my lifting routine from time to time. I’m not looking forward to increasing my cardio, but I’ll be increasing that to 6 days (from an original 3-4 days) a week of 30 minutes a day starting February.
