Summer Posing 2007

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

The competitive season is deep into it. The USA’s are right around the corner. I am looking forward to seeing all the athletes hit the stage.

Up in Canada I hear they changed some rules for female bodybuilders (like always). It seems the CBBF has changed the rules concerning the female bodybuilders. There will be two classes for the women, light and heavy weight. There will be no middleweights. The cut off is 121lbs for the lightweights.

My buddy up in Canada IFBB Pro Autumn Raby (BB.com soon to pub interview) had planned to make her Pro debut as figure competitor at the Montreal Pro Figure this September. Unfortunately, the figure part of the Montreal Pro was cancelled.

This year I will keep training my bench-press poundage’s, I’m getting a new shirt, a Phenom.  Hope it keeps my arms out.  I’ve decided too, to get back into contest type shape.  I like being leaner year round just in case.

If you are competing this year I wish you the best of luck. It is so much fun once you get up there. Just keep that thought in the back of your mind as your stomach is growling, and you really want those goodies!

A Special 800 Page CD Titled Lift Strong…

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

liftSTRONG_copy.jpg

PLEASE - 45 seconds of your time.  My friend and Founder of Elite Fitness Systems has a special offer for everyone, and this is a great thing to do and get for helping a great cause.  Tell us what’s up Dave.

OK, Anita let me cut right to the chase here: I am asking for everyones help.  And it has to do with cancer. First, I am going to refrain from sharing memories about people that I have lost to this disease, or stories of those who beat it. Everyone of us have similar stories, and everyone of them closely reflects a very similar outcome–one person survives, many others do not.  Most importantly, however, is that one person’s lose, or another person’s victory is no greater and no less than the other.  Above all, deep down, we all are going to be touched by this terrible disease at some point throughout our lives—whether it’s through a friend of a friend, or a girlfriend or boyfriend, a husband or wife, mother or father, brother or sister, daughter or son, or even ourselves.   So this basically leaves us all with two options:  a.) Do nothing, or b.) Help. Think of it this way, is cancer serious?  Can it be treated? Do you take your lifting serious?  Can you become better and stronger? Hell yeah it is…and hell yes you can.  Look, both these subjects are deadly serious to all of us.  And, we ALL have poured hundreds hours into research on training, and have spent hundreds of dollars on seminars, books, DVDs etc.

So, here’s an opportunity to do both.  Flat out, here’s the deal:  I’m asking you for a $25 donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I’m not going to try to mask this as some gimmick or promotion.  It is what is: financial support.   In return, however, EliteFTS will send you, free of charge, a special 800 page CD (titled Lift Strong) that contains articles from basically every leading training authority of our day.  Every single dime of your donation goes directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  And every single article was donated.  Elite Fitness System is helping do its part— in addition to a contribution–by donating our entire marketing and distribution resources to get this CD into your hands. The story behind this is quite simple.  My good friend, and EliteFTS contributor, Alwyn Cosgrove–a two time cancer survivor—took the initiative to create the Lift Strong concept as a way to engage support from the strength and fitness community.  Why? Simply because of the INCREDIBLE reach and connection we all have with one another.  I mean, think about it, with e-mail and the Web, every single person in our industry isn’t more than a click away.   EliteFTS.com began in 1999 with Q and A’s and articles.  To date we have published more than 400 articles and answered over 40,000 questions. We have also grown from only a few unique visitors to close to 1 million. I point this out to express my thanks, and also note that we have never asked a thing from any of you for these resources.  They were, and will, be given to you all for free in hopes of making your life and training better. That’s why I am being completely honest here when I say that I am asking for your financial support for cancer and I am not selling this CD. All we are trying to do is “complete the loop” on this.  Meaning, Alwyn came up with concept, all the authors donated time and effort to provide content, Elite Fitness will market and distribute Lift Strong, and our hope is that the rest of the industry can make a contribution as well by donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

And if you think I am being insincere about this, or if you think this is just a business angle, and you REALLY want the CD but are adamantly against making the donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, then please e-mail me directly at LiftStrong@elitefts.com and we’ll work to get you a copy anyway.  For those that request the free copy, Elite Fitness Systems will make a donation on your behalf and we will recognize your name on a special page that is being created for the site.

I said it was free. And I meant it.  More importantly, however, I am asking you to help make the $25 donation Dave Tate Pres. EliteFTS.com Elite Fitness Systems ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIETY…

No one knows but my husband, knows that I had cancer when I was 18, you all didn’t know that hugh!?  This CD contains articles from the leading fitness specialists of our day including:
We originally intended to publish this collection as a book. However - at over 800 pages - costs were prohibitive and we went with the CD option to maximize our contribution.

All Proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Good Things In 2007!

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Happy New Year Everyone!

Well, I hope everyone’s New Years was better than mine! I started 2007 off with being sick, yahoo! Sounds like a good start to me.  Let’s review some of 2006.

Andy Bolton Deadlifts a World Record smashing 1003 pounds at the 2006 WPC Worlds.  The WPO/WPC Powerlifting is becoming the #1 powerlifting around and I don’t care what anyone say’s but when you pay cash to winners your organization has clout! Check this videocast (it’s long - 46 min) of the WPO Kings of the Bench competition held September 29, 2006 at the Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, Nevada:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9131144754452880371&q=bodybuilding+duration%3Along

What happened in bodybuilding? A change in the guard for the IFBB Top ranks that’s what happened. Yep, BIG Ronnie is replaced as Mr. Olympia (for know) by a sharp Jay Cutler and Iris Kyle takes the women’s Olympia (she looked fantastic!).

So, you ready for the challenges you will face in 2007? Are you doing a show? Need a show? Go to http://www.npcnewsonline.com/ or listings right here at BB.com. Speaking of Bodybuilding.com, and its home town of Boise… Go Boise State Broncos. Did any of you see the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl? Wow! What a game. Congrads, GREAT game!

My resolutions are to get my ass fired up more when lifting, I want big weights and I need to work harder. No more answering idiots in emails. And to see the doors open to our gym in 2007.

The time goes by fast, people, cherish every moment and don’t blink!

Breaking News: Bodybuilding Radio on Sirius

Friday, December 1st, 2006

I the long road of bodybuilding’s pursuit to be more mainstream well it seems they are trying with the announcement that "Pro Bodybuilding Weekly” will be added to Sirius Satellite Radio’s high profile lineup of programming. There is about 5 million Sirius subscribers so the assumption is that Pro Bodybuilding Weekly’s audience will exceed that of any existing bodybuilding media outlet, print or broadcast. Will see.

I used to like watching FLEX and even MuscleSport USA on TV but they took those off the air after what only a year. Pro Bodybuilding Weekly is presented each week by Team MuscleTech©, the broadcasts will also remain available to global audience by webcast. For more information, visit BodybuildingRadio.com. Good luck guys!
