A Special 800 Page CD Titled Lift Strong…

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

liftSTRONG_copy.jpg

PLEASE - 45 seconds of your time.  My friend and Founder of Elite Fitness Systems has a special offer for everyone, and this is a great thing to do and get for helping a great cause.  Tell us what’s up Dave.

OK, Anita let me cut right to the chase here: I am asking for everyones help.  And it has to do with cancer. First, I am going to refrain from sharing memories about people that I have lost to this disease, or stories of those who beat it. Everyone of us have similar stories, and everyone of them closely reflects a very similar outcome–one person survives, many others do not.  Most importantly, however, is that one person’s lose, or another person’s victory is no greater and no less than the other.  Above all, deep down, we all are going to be touched by this terrible disease at some point throughout our lives—whether it’s through a friend of a friend, or a girlfriend or boyfriend, a husband or wife, mother or father, brother or sister, daughter or son, or even ourselves.   So this basically leaves us all with two options:  a.) Do nothing, or b.) Help. Think of it this way, is cancer serious?  Can it be treated? Do you take your lifting serious?  Can you become better and stronger? Hell yeah it is…and hell yes you can.  Look, both these subjects are deadly serious to all of us.  And, we ALL have poured hundreds hours into research on training, and have spent hundreds of dollars on seminars, books, DVDs etc.

So, here’s an opportunity to do both.  Flat out, here’s the deal:  I’m asking you for a $25 donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I’m not going to try to mask this as some gimmick or promotion.  It is what is: financial support.   In return, however, EliteFTS will send you, free of charge, a special 800 page CD (titled Lift Strong) that contains articles from basically every leading training authority of our day.  Every single dime of your donation goes directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  And every single article was donated.  Elite Fitness System is helping do its part— in addition to a contribution–by donating our entire marketing and distribution resources to get this CD into your hands. The story behind this is quite simple.  My good friend, and EliteFTS contributor, Alwyn Cosgrove–a two time cancer survivor—took the initiative to create the Lift Strong concept as a way to engage support from the strength and fitness community.  Why? Simply because of the INCREDIBLE reach and connection we all have with one another.  I mean, think about it, with e-mail and the Web, every single person in our industry isn’t more than a click away.   EliteFTS.com began in 1999 with Q and A’s and articles.  To date we have published more than 400 articles and answered over 40,000 questions. We have also grown from only a few unique visitors to close to 1 million. I point this out to express my thanks, and also note that we have never asked a thing from any of you for these resources.  They were, and will, be given to you all for free in hopes of making your life and training better. That’s why I am being completely honest here when I say that I am asking for your financial support for cancer and I am not selling this CD. All we are trying to do is “complete the loop” on this.  Meaning, Alwyn came up with concept, all the authors donated time and effort to provide content, Elite Fitness will market and distribute Lift Strong, and our hope is that the rest of the industry can make a contribution as well by donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

And if you think I am being insincere about this, or if you think this is just a business angle, and you REALLY want the CD but are adamantly against making the donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, then please e-mail me directly at LiftStrong@elitefts.com and we’ll work to get you a copy anyway.  For those that request the free copy, Elite Fitness Systems will make a donation on your behalf and we will recognize your name on a special page that is being created for the site.

I said it was free. And I meant it.  More importantly, however, I am asking you to help make the $25 donation Dave Tate Pres. EliteFTS.com Elite Fitness Systems ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIETY…

No one knows but my husband, knows that I had cancer when I was 18, you all didn’t know that hugh!?  This CD contains articles from the leading fitness specialists of our day including:
We originally intended to publish this collection as a book. However - at over 800 pages - costs were prohibitive and we went with the CD option to maximize our contribution.

All Proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Higher Power CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). what the heck is “Conjugated Linoleic Acid?”  Well, CLA is a naturally occurring derivative of linoleic acid.  Studies suggest that CLA may bring about favorable changes in body composition by metabolizing fat for energy, which may assist with weight control. CLA also possesses antioxidant activity and supports cardiovascular health.

Higher Power uses Tonalin brand CLA, one of the best available on today’s marker. I take 3 a day…And so should you.

karins_show.jpg

Karin is a long time NPC competitor like myslef, she’s been around the industry and many do know her…I know her as my designer for my Bench Shirt, she is owner of Karinsextremepower.com

I asked Karin to tell us about her career and her come back at the recent Arnold Classic…”Hi Anita, So, you want some info on my big comeback after fifteen years, eating beef, chicken and yams, oatmeal and grits for four months?  Well, I started  working out last April 2006 after a 5 year absence from the gym. Weighed in at 149 lbs. could have gone lighter, but at my age more wrinkles was not an option. lol  I will turn 60 yrs. in November, was at minimum 20 years older than anyone else.  It was certainly a challenge this time around,  met more than a few new competitors, from the fitness women, phsyique women, to the bodybuilders,  it was great fun.  Had so many friends and family cheering me on, many teary eyed when I came off stage with my 4th place trophy.  Might have to do it one more time. ha ha.”

"I won this same contest in 1992,  also was in the first Arnold 1986 (it was a pro-am show then placed 6th after one of the top five tested positive for drugs)  7 vendors and 2500 person audience at Vet’s Memorial)  I competed at the second Arnold 1988.  Started lifting Nov. of 1982 on nautilus equipment, competed February of 1983 for the first time , won the Ms. Dayton, ohio.  Went on to take the Ms. Ohio class title several times,  pretty much every regional competition in the east and mid states.  Also competed in the AAU, won the Ms. Usa, Ms. Jr. Usa, Ms. Jr. America, and Class winner at the Ms. America those were all from 1986 to 1989.  Also competed in Powerlifting in the 148lbs. class made the top five twice at the nationals, came out fourth at the y-nationals, have my elite in the 148lb and 165 lb class.   I also was invited to do the Women’s extravaganza on the East Coast 1988-1992,  Ray Hollit and I competed all four years,  she besting me of course, again I was 15- 20 years older than anyone else.  My best showing there was 3rd, which was a win for me , lol.  I was a personal trainer for eleven years and retired from that in1997. Thanks Anita, Karin. No thank you Karin, maybe you and I can prep for the 2008 Masters Nationals, I’m thinking about it.
