Greetings All NPC Figure Competitors…

June 10, 2008

It has been braught to my atention about the so-called new rules for NPC Women’s Figure. Ha ha ha! They are getting slapped liek the female bodybuilders did with that bull 20% rule, that worked well -not! So the NPC is ging to screw the female figure for a few years now. Idiots. So here is what the new rule say’s…"new judging criteria we at the NPC are judging. For the past year you have been hearing rumors that judging will move toward a softer athletic look in figure instead of the muscular, lean look. Well, we kicked off the national competition year with the Jr. USA in Charleston and true to our word we set the stage for local and national level judging. The look is soft and athletic…" I was wondering when I was attending in the audiance at teh 2008 Northern Colorado the overall Figure that EVERYONE in the 1,000 plus audiance thought she should have won was not awarded the overall. She was PRO caliber in many eyes and she got screwd. Nice job on the part of the NPC - again.

New U.P.A. State Directors

June 10, 2008

The UPA is happy to announce that Bill Crawford, of Metal Militia, has accepted the
position of New York State Chairman for the UPA. Bill brings with him a wealth of
knowledge from a meet promotion standpoint as well as many years of high level
competition experience. As the promoter of several great meets a year in the
upstate New York area Bill is a great addition to the UPA.

Bill Crawford is a GREAT friend of mine and as a member myself of the Metal Militia Bill is a super teacher/coach when it comes to benching in shirts.

The UPA is also pleased to announce Tommy Fannon accepting the position of Florida State Chairman for the UPA.  “We  are excited about this addition and look
forward to working with Tommy and his crew in the Florida area.  Tommy  brings
with him a great deal of experience and a strong passion for the sport that will be
invaluable to the UPA.”

I myself have a conference call with UPA President Kennt Paterson about possibly beinng the UPA Colorado State Chair. Wish me luck. Go to the U.P.A. web site for more info http://unitedpowerliftingassociation.com/

USA Weightlifting Men’s Team Qualifies for Two Olympic Slots at Final Olymp

March 26, 2008

USA Weightlifting Men’s Team Qualifies for Two Olympic Slots at Final Olympic Qualifier in Callao, Peru

The USA Weightlifting Men’s Team will be represented by two athletes on the Olympic platform at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing China. Powered by consistent performances by all eight men competing for the U.S. at the 2008 Pan American Weightlifting Championships and final Olympic qualifier, this past weekend in Callao, Peru, the U.S. men’s team finished the event in first place as a team among country’s not already qualified for the Beijing Games, thus securing two Olympic slots for the United States men.

Way too go Team USA. The U.S. men also brought home the overall team silver medal from the event, finishing just behind Cuba.

Please see below for the individual totals for Team USA from the 2008 Pan American Weightlifting Championships:

Derrick Johnson (St. Louis, Mo.), 62kg Weight Class - 240kg total (107kg snatch and 133kg clean and jerk) - 14th Place Overall

Matt Bruce (Baton Rouge, La.), 77kg Weight Class - 325kg total (145kg snatch and 180kg clean and jerk) - Fourth Place Overall

Chad Vaughn (Konawa, Okla./Norman, Okla.), 77kg Weight Class - 322kg total (142kg snatch and 180kg clean and jerk) - Fifth Place Overall

Kendrick Farris (Shreveport, La.), 85kg Weight Class - 347kg total (150kg snatch and 197kg clean and jerk - silver medal) - Fourth Place Overall

Zach Krych (Colorado Springs, Colo.), 85kg Weight Class - 319kg total (140kg snatch and 179kg clean and jerk) - Sixth Place Overall

Jeff Wittmer (Florissant, Mo.), 94kg Weight Class - 347kg total (155kg snatch and 192kg clean and jerk - bronze medal)

Casey Burgener (Bonsall, Calif./Colorado Springs, Colo.), 105+kg Weight Class - 380kg total (170kg snatch - silver medal and 210kg clean and jerk) - Fourth Place Overall

Zach Schluender (Colorado Springs, Colo.), 105+Weight Class - 375kg total (167kg snatch - bronze medal and 208kg clean and jerk - personal record) - Fifth Place Overall

The top eight U.S. men represented the USA at this critical event. The event was full of pressure for these eight individuals as U.S. representation on the men’s 2008 Olympic platform was dependent upon their combined performances. The eight men that secured 2008 Olympic participation for the USA will move onto the 2008 U.S. OIympic Team Trials for Weightlifting, May 16-17 in Atlanta, Ga., where they will be vying with 22 other men for two positions and a chance to perform on the Olympic platform in Beijing.

Now onto the women. The United States women have qualified for the maximum of four competition slots for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Rumor Mill

March 6, 2008

I’ve heard reports that at the 2008 Mrs. International top flight bodybuilder Iris Kyle was "disqualified" for what was reported as to have "a lump on her butt and it was signs of steriod abuse…"  EXCUSE ME! What is the IFBB thinking? Iris, girl, I’d go after those idiots ASAP.  Hope the IFBB are not that stupid and this is not true…
