Doesn’t feel so good when, after working your ass off in the gym several days in a row with only moderate results, you have that day when you start to feel the burn. I mean the feeling that your body is a fat-burning machine? I got that tonight, burn baby burn. It felt so good. I did interval training for an hour, running the track for a couple laps, walk, then 5 minutes of some heavy duty step mill, walk the track, then 5 minutes heavy duty elliptical. I was glistening It wasn’t just the the workout but the clean diet it makes all the difference. I am 10 weeks out from my contest so this is feeling good. It was that motivation of a good workout that helps me keep my eye on the prize. Oh and my ass is getting tighter too and that is definitely encouraging as I think about my next comp (genetics are not in my favor in that area).

We had our first week’s weigh in for the Fitness Challenge I started at work. 31 people signed up (far more than I had expected) and we lost 94 pounds the first week!!! Wow, people are taking this seriously and people already look like they feel better. This has been a really encouraging experience for me and I am glad that I went ahead and started the challenge. For a while now, people at work have been inspired by my transformation and have asked so many questions so I saw this challenge as a way to share my knowledge and help people get to the next level. What I didn’t anticipate was the motivation it has given me as I approach my next comp. The energy that we provide each other through the challenge is incredible. I am a little less than 11 weeks out and cutting so I need all the help I can get Had a great bis and tris work out this morning along with my normal cardio. Legs tomorrow so I better get some rest.

So tomorrow is day one of the Fitness/Biggest Loser Challenge that I am putting together for my employees. Everyone is very excited and I have 20 people signed up. I am putting everyone on teams and will have a team winner and individual winner. Of course, I am entering myself since I need a little motivation at the point in the game too. Has anyone out there done anything like this at their workplace, I am open to suggestions that might continue to help motivate the teams as the challenge moves along.

12 weeks out–yikes. I think I will be satisfied with the end results again. I think I will come in bigger in my shoulders which will help to even out my proportion on stage. My biggest challenge will be to come in tighter on the bottom so I am starting to run quite a bit, I am trying new things to see what works. I am still a newbie and have learned not to always listen to others but to experiment with what work for my body.
Okay so fish and veggies, fish and veggies. my fav fish is orange roughy but it is so expensive!! I love butter spray on my veggies and my breakfasts consistent of egg whites and corn tortillas (shhh! don’t tell my trainer). The way I see it I need to find the balance in training for these comps. If I hate every minute of the diet, why do it. So corn tortillas are my sanity at the moment and something I look forward to after my workout. I will switch to cream of rice closer in. Don’t really like oats unless they are in protein pancakes. I will whip up a batch of my favorite protein pancakes, I am they are sooo awesome!!! Gotta cruise and get those going. Anyone reading this training for a comp? Let’s keep in touch, accountability and motivation for others help a lot!

Had a great time at the 2008 Arnold Classic, saw lots of people that have motivated me on this "journey" and seeing them in person is a plus! Doing well on the diet despite traveling but got food poisioning–yuck! Haven’t had a good run with the food lately as you will see from my previous blog. Went to the expo with my trainer, Carol Semple, and kept getting stopped by people telling her that she was the bomb. Of course, she is but I like to keep movin’ Anyway, if you have never been I would recommend going next year. Went to the women’s fitness, figure and bodybuilding finals on Friday night. There are some hot chick doing some phenomenal things with their bodies. Go girls!!
