Feelin Pretty Effin Good!!!
Aw, I took my SizeOn, Plasmajet and a scoop and 1/2 of superpump250 and I smoked in the gym for the first time in a long time!! I think it was the 3 bowls of pasta I ate last night giving me a boost as well. I got 125 on the pec deck, 60 each arm on the hammerstrength shoulder press, I did the chest/dip machine and got 80 lbs, lateral raises with 20 lb dbs, cable crossovers, cables press downs for chest, benched 125 easy , 200 on some donkey calf raises, 50 lb cable pressdowns per arm for tris,etc etc…. I am going hard and heavy for the next 4 weeks. It was a good workout and I was really very happy about it. I had been off the SizeON (happily back on it!!!), but took some pre show actually to try for fullness to pull water into the muscles. i wasn’t really depleted, but will try that next time to get some more subcutaneous water out. I want to be pretty cut this time seeing as I lost to ‘cut’ last time (then soft the next show). No messing around. This is for State Championships and that really means something to me. Okay, maybe they won’t like me (judges) but like I said, I’m gonna like me!!! Woo hoo, I did 20 of cardio as well, then came home and scrubbed out my fridge and cleaned my kitchen floor, washed my hair (yeah, its an event, not a lame excuse as to why I can’t date you) . I worked 8 and 1/2 hours as well and helped my 7 year old with his homework.lemmee tell you, the superpump helps give me my 2nd wind. Some guy in the gym tells me I have to slow down and have some fun, but this is my fun really. I mean, I always worked, had kids since I was 19…..so finding myself has been fun. Opening myself up to working out I mean. I always,always peeked at muscle mags. Always admired women with muscular legs and bodies because they look so strong and confidant…so unlike myself. I know people say it’s just fitness or weightlifting, but it isn’t at all. It becomes a mental thing as well as physical. I have done soooooo many things that were alien to me in the last year. I navigated airports and traveled alone (I had only been on a 2 hour plane ride at the age of 37 before) I got on a stage in a tiny bikini with a wedgie and heels, I met tons of great people here and in person, wrote my 1st article, taped myself in the gym like an idiot and I am thinking about when I first walked into that gym alone, heart thudding out of my chest and walked into that weight room because I sooooooo wanted to be there and I was thinking if I didn’t do it now I would spend the rest of my life wishing I had. I think there are many people who wish to step out of their box, their comfort zone, but never do. I had to decide whether I was more afraid of trying and failing, then never having tried at all and kicking myself in the ass for it. I didn’t have much to lose. I think I am kind of mentally young even though I have dealt with many tough issues in my personal life. Everything I do now is new to me, new experiences that is. People will say, "Im too old to start", but that’s crap. I read a story about a 78 year old man who is in the first grade (could be 2nd). he was the son of a sharecropper who never learned to read. He promised his mother he would and so he did……..he didn’t die wondering ‘what if ’ and even though it took 78 years, he is in school and reading. Okay, that one gave me tears I admit it. You are never too old to feel good, are you?
Ok, I blabbed plenty. I’m just suddenly in an optomistic mood. You guys have to remember that even though you may screw up your diet today, blow off the gym, tomorrow is another day and you can’t start over..the IS no end til you die….so start living will ya?

So I have a question. The supps really make me curious. After 9 months I have hit a plateau, the tape isnt moving, and the weight isnt changing, but I am stronger. I am taking the generic GNC protien powder and a multi vite now.
I do two a days, cardio morning and abs, back for a 4 day split at nite. Get pretty good sleep.
So do you think i should take a look at better supps? Be interested in your opinion. Best Rob

Yay, Fern! I love the great workouts that result after a nice carb up, and when you get some good workout carbs and creatine in ya…whoooo! I’m super stoked to start my SizeOn and SuperPump. There’s nothing like a good pump–except a better one, eh? Good luck at State!!

WOW !!! another great blog Fern. You are so right on so many levels, it is never too late to try or do what you truly love.
It makes you feel good about yourself, and that reflects in everything you do.

One other thing you may give a try is waxy maize starch. It gets through the stomach faster and absorbs straight to the bloodstream and pulls water in with it. I always use it in my workouts and it brings out the veins nicely! You can get it unflavored if you need. I use either the stuff from IDS or Optimum. Its available in bulk, um… elsewhere… It has a texture like flour (my friend says its cocaine and no one realizes it
)

Hey Fern, I would have loved to have been in your gym on your first day. I love the wide eyed enthusiasm of people new to lifting. They are about to begin a huge new chapter in their lives and it’s cool as a trainer to help them on their way. Keep up the good work. Steve
